We are going to DLRP on July 26-28. I was thinking of staying at the Cheyenne or Santa Fe but found out that they only have a ceiling fan. Are the rooms hot?
Thanks for the help!
Tracey
I stayed at the Santa Fe during the very hot summer in 2003. We forgot to turn the fan on the first night and it was sooo hot, but we learned and the following nights were ok with only the fan on. It might also depend on how many people will be in the room together, we were two and didn`t have to share a bed so I think that also helped with the temperature.
oh thank goodness someone else posted this question! Some of you were quite amused that I have developed some North American traits over the years (I reference my question about in-room coffee which drew a few chuckles earlier this year )
Having recently returned from a visit to Germany during a heatwave (34 degrees every day, and in Bavaria near the mountains humidity gets high), I sorely missed airconditioning.
Now, I don't have it my home here, but I was aghast at the heat inside the Frankfurt airport, not to mention my lovely hotel room at night. I had forgotten what it is like to shop with no air conditioning during a heat wave, too.....
So, SCohen thanks for asking - coming from Texas, I think that you would be more airconditioned than me. And to isma, thank you for responding so pleasantly!!! I feel much better now....
Hi Bavaria!
Yes in Texas we are accustomed to our airconditioners.... honestly in the heat of the summer we end up sadly losing a few senior citizens who for whatever reason don't have airconditioners. Tragically we have also had a few children die when they were accidentally left in vehicles. Toooo sad! I promise, it really gets that hot. We are pretty much slaves to our A/C from about May to early Sept, with July and Aug being dangerous without it.
Seeing how the temperature in France is equivalant to an early summer day in Texas, we are hoping for a reprieve when we sleep.
OK, I will admit I wear my tiara proudly.... and I will take it off everynight before placing my head on a pillow in an airconditioned Newport Bay room!

i wouldn't reccomend it - we stayed in the dream castle hotel (the shuttles were very good) and i left the air con on all day - so we got back from a very hot at the parks - it was bliss.
Thanks everyone! I am so glad that I went with my instincts and didn't reserve a room there. I'd love to see the scenery there though. Maybe someday we can come back in the spring.
Thanks again!

stonfiesta- my curiosity has me imagining the worst!!!!! :

The great thing about DLP is that all the hotels are within walking distance of each other. No matter which one you are staying in, you can visit all the others easily and have a good look around.
We always go for a walk of an evening after we've eaten (we are typically at DLP when the parks close early) and tour the grounds of another hotel before we head back to our own for the night.

Great idea!
We are planning a trip to Billy Bob's for sure. You see we live about 10miles from the original here in Texas and thought it would be great to see the Disney equivalant. I also want to see the Disneyland Hotel. We stayed at the Anaheim one back in April and booked Concierge level. There is no way I am going to pay what DLRP wants for a DLH room...ouch! Maybe someday we can come back in the off season when the prices aren't so high. I have a feeling that Paris and London are going to be in our blood and return trips will be neccesary for us.
6 more days till I take off for London and 10 until I am actually at DLRP!!! Pinch me now!
We're also excited about the Blue Lagoon Restaraunt. Back in April they were still doing refurbishements on Pirates in Disneyland CA, so the Blue Bayoo was closed. We can't wait to give the Lagoon a try!
