We always go in September. Yes, it's hot but not unbearably so. Bring mini mister fans or cooling towels. Do an outside activity and then an inside cool one. Some days you will get the late afternoon downpour, we put ponchos on and just keep going. The park clears out even more! I love September!

We were there Sept 20-28 last year ... 90s, VERY HUMID, rained every day, 3 of them were all day rains.

I went mid-September in 2008 and 2009. Both times were hot and humid, 90s every day, but the rain showers were generally overnight and not a hindrance. It is worth it to get the low crowds and I agree with the PP to alternate outdoor and indoor activities to keep from overheating. Plus that means you can swim every day! :beach:

September is hot; however lower crowds make it bearable. Expect rain, but on a good note, rain does help clear out the parks even more as someone else stated. On our last September trip, I think we ran into rain twice during the entire week and it didn't slow us down a bit. Our first day in the parks was an MK day and it rained steadily all day, but we put ponchos on and kept on going and it was one of our best days ever. MK was basically deserted!!! I find that Disney is more bearable than other theme parks in the heat because many attractions are inside..so that helps. Just come prepared. Pack sunscreen, hats for shade, plenty of water, ponchos, extra shoes and socks (incase in rains and gets your other's wet), etc. You'll be fine.

I guess it depends on where you are coming from - we live in Central Texas. 80-90 feels good in September for us because it's still 100 degrees every day back home that time of year! Our September 2013 trip, most days were overcast, with the sun peeking out here and there. It wasn't that humid, and we had passing rainstorms a few days. Only one day had really heavy downpours. We checked the forecasts leading up to our trip and came prepared for just about anything, but we pretty much left our sweatshirts and long pants in the suitcase, as it never really got lower than the 60s at night. :)

Yes, very hot and short run bursts in the afternoon. While it can be rainy (it is hurricane season), it is usually just an afternoon storm for 30-60 minutes or so.

Have fun!

We have gone in Sept. in 2007, 2010 and are returning this year in Sept. Like everyone else has already mentioned it is normally in the 90's. Pop up storms can happen at any time. Storms can last for 10 minutes or go on for some time. Each time we had some wild scary storms. The last trip in 2010 they said that it was going to be a nice day with 10% chance of rain, well I think they should of said 80% that day at MK. just be prepared for any condition. Have water bottles for the heat or rain cover of your choice. Us we never take rain gear, rain feels good when it's in the 90's.:dance3:

We go the week of Labor Day every year. Yes, it's hot. Yes, it's humid. Yes, passing showers happen. Buuuuuut...the crowds are super-low, resorts aren't wall to wall people, getting dining reservations is a bit easier, and we find the trip to be incredibly enjoyable during tis time. Value season (depending on exactly when you book), discounts galore, it all adds up to a great (but hot, lol) trip!!!

Do you guys think the crowds will still be low with the free dining offer?

My original thought was yes since it has been historically low crowds each year. Then I tried to call in to change a few things on my October reservation and all the lines were busy, wait times were hours and even the online live assistant was down due to the activity. Now I'm not so sure. It will depend on when everyone is booking. I know a lot have an October break now from school. I am guessing September will still be on the lower side, but October and November will have higher crowds. Time will tell.

The crowds still are not that bad even though it's Free Dining. We are always able to walk on. Even rode Toy Story Midway Mania 3 times in a row before the line was super long.

It rained every day we were there last year, but we just dealt with it! At least you don't have to worry about what you look like :)

We will be there too Sep 10-16 :goodvibes :goodvibes

I'm 100% sure September will be better than June!!! ugh!!! And the trip before that we went in May during a tropical storm! It POURED, I mean... flooded sidewalks in MK POURED... but the park was open but empty and we were wet but happy :)

We're going in Sept too and I'm dreading the heat. I live in a hot, humid location and still am dreading it! However, I figure we can work with it. We usually go in the off-season during Nov/Dec, I've heard Sept is even lower crowds. As for free dining, we found it could make the parks feel more crowded - but the increase in people doesn't usually increase the ride lines, as people spend more time eating this way. Just make sure to reserve any table service you want to do in advance - that's the biggest issue. (October is a busier time than Sept so I wouldn't compare Oct crowds to Sept. However, when we go in Nov it's busier than Sept - but lower than Oct - and there were never any issues during free dining though the parks felt more crowded than ride waits showed).
