Heat, Humidity, and Our Favorite Disney Dog Was a Thug! LINK TO NEW PTR!!

Love, that Minnie dress! That is just too cute! I know CM gets a bad rap but we have always had decent food there but the characters have always been awesome! Plus, the atmosphere just makes that place cool...where else does a monorail drive thru during your meal?

Love, love, love Willow's new haircut! I would so get that haircut if I could. My hair is naturally curly so I envy straight hair....:worship:

Christine

<------- well I guess everyone can guess how I feel about the restaurant ;) we have been fans since my kids were little ( they are now 39 and 37 yrs old :faint:) and we first went there when it was located down in ( what was then called ) The Village Marketplace....I think its where something or other Express is now located :confused3

Where was Donald's hat ? ! I have never seen him bare headed...how cute

Speaking of heads Willow just got 100 times more adorable if possible I love her haircut Your pictures together are real treasures

hmmmm:scratchin pluto: STILL not a thug ;):rotfl: just sayin :duck:

I just LOVE Miss Willow's haircut. What a beautiful little princess!

We have not been to CM in ages, so seeing your pictures was very nice. You are one talented lady making that cute Minnie dress for Willow. No wonder the characters were in awe with her. :goodvibes

willow looks so adorable in her minnie dress! love the sparkly shoes!!! your chef mickey dinner looks like a blast and willow couldn't look more happy. i can't wait for our ADR there. we loved it last time we went. i haven't heard anything bad about it, but that makes me sad. we liked it so much!
We really did have so much fun! I have read nothing but gripes about CM for months - maybe people are expecting a different experience food-wise? I go in expecting buffet food - I mean, it's not going to be Victoria & Albert's or even Mama Melrose. It's a buffet. We definitely enjoyed it, so I'm glad we went, and I would definitely book it again.

i'd hang that picture of mickey at our house too!
Right???? I loved that! I was all, "where can I get one of those????"

we're planning a cruise for 2015--our very first cruise ever! can't wait to hear about yours!
Congratulations! Watch out though - once you go on one, you can't stop booking more….. I am dying to get to the cruise part of this report - it seems like it's taking forever! We are planning a 2015 cruise too, BTW! :woohoo:

I feel like I missed a bunch!
No worries - it's so hard to keep up with everyone!

In all of my years loving Disney, I've actually never been to Disney on ice. Willow looks so cute, and how appropriate that she had no idea that you were going to Disney on ice?! I would totally wear that every day if I could.
This was our second year of Disney on Ice - we are pretty big fans. :thumbsup2 I am still cracking up that she decided to don that dress for some shopping! :rotfl2:

Wow! Great seats.
My mom really went above and beyond. Only downside is that I can't imagine sitting anywhere else now.

Oohh, AC in Mickey and Minnie's new meet and greet huh? That's a nice treat.
Oh, yeah, it was tempting to suggest that meet-and-greet over and over and over and over. :rolleyes1

You threw away a Mickey bar?! I just cried a little. ;)
I have to say, sitting here right now, I can't quite fathom how we did that…..

That picture of Baloo coming at you the dance is hysterical! It's like "hey girl, get over here!"
OMG! :rotfl2: Exactly! I was a little scared. :confused3

Love the puffball Yeti picture! It's a puffball selfie.
:rotfl2: Puffball Yeti is quite a character.

Okay, I'm adoring Willow's Minnie outfit. So perfect.
Thank you! I was so pleased with how it came out. I had no idea how to make the bow or the apron, but I thought it turned out pretty darn good. :woohoo:

Love her new haircut!
I do too - but I have to accept completely that there is no Baby Willow left now. She is a Big Girl through and through. *sigh*

Love Willows Minnie outfit so cute! If I haven't said before I love your autograph pages I told my daughter she needs to come check out your report and the pages.........:cool1:
Thank you so much! I was so excited about how the Minnie outfit came out. And we had a lot of fun with the autograph pages, although I doubt that I would ever invest that amount of time in them again.

I'm a bit behind. I love all of your character meets at Camp Minnie Mickey. The characters over there are often quite silly. And it looks like Baloo has a crush on you! I'm glad you like FOTLK. I love that show. Especially the monkeys! I love, love, love Willow's Chef Mickey outfit. When I saw the 1st picture of her in it I just said, "Ahhh!" I'm not suprised all the characters loved it. How could they not? So perfect! As you know, we love Chef Mickey's too. Since they changed the Epcot Character Connections it is now the only place to meet all of the Fab 5 at one time. Can't beat that!
We are such big fans of Camp Minnie/Mickey - I hope they do something equally great as far as character meets if they end up destroying it for AvatarLand or whatever it will be called.

Thanks so much - I felt so good about how that Minnie outfit came out. And it was great how much fun interaction we had with characters because of it. :thumbsup2

You're right! I hadn't thought about that, but it really is the only Fab 5 place now. Wow. That's kind of sad. :( But all the more reason that we will return to CM again. :thumbsup2

Fun update!! Looks like you had a lovely time at Chef Mickey's. It has been a very long time since we've eaten there. 2004 was our last meal there. You had some great character meets.
Love Willow's new haircut!!!
We really did have a great time - I think we'll be back. Thanks - I thought it was really cute.

Love, that Minnie dress! That is just too cute! I know CM gets a bad rap but we have always had decent food there but the characters have always been awesome! Plus, the atmosphere just makes that place cool...where else does a monorail drive thru during your meal?
Thanks Christine! I was so happy that it turned out as well as it did.

That's exactly how I feel. The food wasn't bad at all - we both found totally decent stuff, just what you would expect at a character buffet. The characters were great. And the whole atmosphere was a blast!

Love, love, love Willow's new haircut! I would so get that haircut if I could. My hair is naturally curly so I envy straight hair....:worship:
 Your post cracks me up, because Willow decided to do it largely, I think, because it was basically an exact copy of my haircut.

I figured you might like this place. ;) We had so much fun!

Where was Donald's hat ? ! I have never seen him bare headed...how cute
Wasn't that weird?????? Willow kept asking every character, but they all gave us the run-around.  Seriously - where was his hat???

Speaking of heads Willow just got 100 times more adorable if possible I love her haircut Your pictures together are real treasures
Thanks! I thought the cut came out perfect, but she looks so grown up! Where's my baby!??? :scared1:

hmmmm:scratchin pluto: STILL not a thug ;):rotfl: just sayin :duck:
:rotfl2:

I hate to break this to you, but it was the NEXT MORNING that we met Pluto the Thug. :scared1:

I just LOVE Miss Willow's haircut. What a beautiful little princess!
Aww - thank you! I think she made a great choice, and I think she looked beautiful. But - she looks so grown-up! No more baby for me. :(

We have not been to CM in ages, so seeing your pictures was very nice. You are one talented lady making that cute Minnie dress for Willow. No wonder the characters were in awe with her. :goodvibes
Thanks! I was so proud of myself on that dress - being new to sewing and having no idea what I was doing sometimes, it was really exciting to have it come out as well as it did. :rotfl2: And it definitely added to our fun at CM! :woohoo:

Some Fabulous CMs

After our great time at Chef Mickey’s, Willow and I hit the Contemporary shops - we just love these shops. We both managed to purchase quite a few souvenirs here. (I will try to go around and get pictures of our souvenirs at some point and post them - as I sit here, I can’t even remember what we bought!) After spending some serious dollars here, we went back up to the monorail. I didn’t take any pics when we were shopping, but here is one of the shops from the monorail platform.

We had a fun monorail ride. Someone complimented DD on her dress and accessories, and she told them that I made it. This boy sitting with them was all, “No, you mean you sewed it or you bought it at the castle????” I said, “I sewed it.” Boy: “NO! You mean you SEWED IT??????” He was hilarious! Then we got to talking to Santa and Mrs. Claus for a while.

No, I’m not kidding. We were sitting next to a somewhat older couple, and they were admiring Willow’s dress as well. The husband mentioned to me that he is Santa and that there is a real need for Santa-sized Hawaiian shirts for the Santa off-season - that the Santas at the Santa Conventions would just love them. :rotfl2: I really appreciated that he was trying to drum up some business for me - I’m not sure that I would know how to make shirts that big though! :confused3  Honestly, what a sweet couple!

We arrived at the MK stop and made our way over to the buses.

Soon our bus arrived.

And we were onboard at 7:46.

And we were back at our resort at 8:04.

We had to make a stop at the concierge desk because we were over halfway through our WDW stay and had heard absolutely nothing about when, where, etc. we would meet our Disney bus to the port for our cruise. The CM at concierge was able to find out that we would hear something on Friday (the day before we sailed). Next, I realized on the bus that I had left the print of our photo from Chef Mickey’s on our table at the restaurant. :( I had no idea whether they could help me with that, but this wonderful CM said she would call right over and then send their resort runner to get it. :thumbsup2 Next, we needed some plates and such for serving up our cake. :woohoo: The CM said she would give a quick call to housekeeping about that. And finally, I wanted to make sure that whoever had assigned us such a wonderful room got a proper thank-you for that, and the CM took down that info as well. This woman was so helpful and not at all annoyed about my long agenda of items with which I needed help. LOVE Disney CMs!

DD was entertaining herself during this exchange.

Before long, we were on our way back up to our room. Love those looong BWI hallways!

We got back to our room at about 8:20. Very shortly thereafter, there was a knock at the door. A lovely gentleman from housekeeping was there with plates and knives and forks for our cake. Willow, as per usual, had to run over to the door and have a conversation with him. He seemed to just love her in her Minnie dress, and the two of them talked about school and other important things.

Willow got ready for bed and chose a movie to watch.

She also wanted some cake (which she didn’t really eat).

I feel bad that I didn’t get a picture of it before we cut into it.

(I had some of it later - for a gluten-free baked good, it was quite good - relatively moist, and very chocolatey.)

Next, bell services called to say that our Chef Mickey’s photo had been dropped off. They offered to bring it up, and about 10 seconds after I hung up, they were at the door with our photo. :thumbsup2

Now, right after I shut the door, there was another knock. It was the sweet gentleman from housekeeping again - he had returned with two small Ariel figurines for Willow because he just thought she was so lovely. It was so incredibly thoughtful of him and just so sweet. After the door closed, Willow came over and I showed her, so she had to run down the hall to thank him. It was just a wonderful evening of incredible CMs. :lovestruc

What a great update! So many pixie dust moments! I really do think it was the dress. Anyone that saw Willow in it would be immediately charmed. I wonder if it would work outside of Disney World. :goodvibes Oh and I miss the Boardwalk! I just love that place!

It really was such a nice evening with so many great CMs.

 She DID wear the dress for the first day of school this year (sans apron and box, of course). :thumbsup2

I miss the BWI too. :( I want to go back NOW!

Hey girlfriend- :)
Hey Ellen! Great to see you!

I am waaaaay back here on the stairs of the BW catching up! :) Very excited to be heading back there next month. But for only one night before we switch to BCV for a night before 7 glorious nights on the Fantasy! Soooooo excited to be on a 7 night cruise again....

Love, love, love these ordinary moments that turn out so magical at Disney!! What wonderful CMs--they really do make the trips that much better!!
It was a truly great evening - a lot of Disney spirit going on that night. :lovestruc

That is one ginormous cake! Was it really as tall as it looks?
:rotfl2: It was actually a very small cake, but you are right - now that I think about it, it was definitely on the tall side!

I forgot to say how adorable willow is with her fancy new hair cut! Too cute!
Aww - thanks! She looks so grown-up to me. *sigh*

Omg- the fairy costume! You should be very, very, very proud of yourself, Mama!
Oh, thanks so much! It was a royal pain in the booty to make, but I think it turned out pretty darn good. :woohoo:

Btw- i realized about 10 minutes after I posted before that I had already read thos epdates before- and probably posted about them, too! Sorry! I am losin it, lol!

You are magic with your sewing! :goodvibes That little boy was right.
Aww - you're the best, Shannon! I can't believe that less than a year ago, I had never sewed anything, and now I am actually contemplating selling stuff. Without you, I would never have even learned how! :scared1: Thank you!!!!!!

What amazing CMs!!! I loved hearing about that. Those CMs are what make WDW so special. Yay!
After some of the bad service we had at restaurants and after how grumpy the two of us got during this trip, this night of amazing CMs was a wonderful reminder of why we love WDW so much. :lovestruc

Glad the GF cake was yummy!
It probably would have been even yummier if we had tried it fresh!

Great update!
Thanks Karin!

Those CMs can make or break your day, can't they?
I really felt a renewed love for WDW after the CM experiences this evening - they really made up for some of the less-than-stellar dining CMs we experienced and then some!

Your cake looks lovely - did I miss it? Where did you have it made?
 It was quite a while back in the TR when we got it. I had ordered it from Babycakes for our Family Day. I had meant for us to celebrate with it at Flying Fish, but the less than stellar servicer there resulted in us just carting it back to our resort room in the box. We finally got around to trying it on this evening. :thumbsup2

yeah yeah yeah very :rolleyes1nice cake good bought souveniers yada yada quit stalling and teasing I am here to defend Pluto and still am not convinced ...up next.???? !!!!...you better not disappear until Monday
