All caught up again and loving your TR! It sounds like you had an awesome Princess day, from your meeting with Merida, to finned Ariel and all the CRT princesses, what an awesome day! Willow looks every inch a princess herself. :goodvibes

Great pics! So cute! :goodvibes
Thank you!

Thanks - she really was so excited to be back in the castle with her princess friends. It really is fun to go there, isn't it??? I mean, I know a lot of people complain about the food and the cost, but I love going there and will continue going there as long as we are both enjoying it.

We really did have a great princess-filled morning and lunchtime at MK! What a great way to start a trip, right? :cloud9:

Hi Roni!

Can I still get in on the fun?

Karin!!! Of course I would love to have you join in!!

Do you know that I kept sort of looking around for you and Tom on the Fantasy? And then I would think, Pfft - they are off enjoying some pleasant, calm, adults-only experience. :rotfl2: I was kind of hoping that I might spot you at Remy or Palo though! Oh man, I can't wait to get to REMY in my dining review! :goodvibes I hope you two had a great cruise - were you back-to-back again???

Your CRT looks great! Your DD really seemed to enjoy herself! I am happy you had great princess action! The princesses really seem to be hit or miss most of the time, its really fun when they are all on top of their game.

I really think they should cut the size of kids meals and cut the prices as well! I have never really seen a child that can eat a meal that size!

I am really enjoying your TR, can't wait for the next installment!

I absolutely adore how Alice has signed her name, it's so cute. And as always your autograph book pages are delightful :goodvibes

I love the photos of Willow with the Princesses and how wonderful that they were really nice! Oh I also love Snow White's lipstick mark in Willow's book :)

Yeah, character interaction definitely varies wildly - understandable, I think, given the changing moods of the characters, the people with whom they're interacting, the type of day everyone has had, how busy they are, etc. I do think that this particular meal was the best princess dining interaction we have ever had (we have done CRT and Akershus all three trips) - it was a very special and super-fun lunch. DD had a fantastic time.

Yeah, it would be nice if maybe they had a choice - half-sizes or something. I can see that maybe when kids are closer to 8 or 9, they would want/need the whole meal, but DD never finishes the WDW meals. Now part of that really is how distracted she is at character meals. I was actually a little worried about how little she ate at this meal given that she hadn't had any breakfast. :scared:

I am really enjoying your TR, can't wait for the next installment!
Thanks so much - it is so nice to be able to relive the trips during the long months of no vacation, isn't it?

I absolutely adore how Alice has signed her name, it's so cute. And as always your autograph book pages are delightful :goodvibes
Oh, isn't that signature just the best!? And thank you! I worked really hard on those pages, and I often questioned my sanity while doing it, but I think they helped lead to some really great character interactions on this trip.

I love the photos of Willow with the Princesses and how wonderful that they were really nice! Oh I also love Snow White's lipstick mark in Willow's book :)
It really was a great princess meal - truly the best one we have had as far as the princesses. I love that lipstick mark too - so sweet!

Clearly I fell a little bit behind.

I've never been able to make deluxe dining make sense. I made some major changes to my diet over the past year, and I just can't justify it anymore. I can't get dessert with every meal and eat that much. Well, I mean, I CAN, but it's better if I didn't. :lmao:

Awwwww, Willow looks so cute in her Snow White dress!

The Yachtsman is one of my favorites. So so yummy.

Yay, Willow selfies! I especially like the close up of the eye. :rotfl:

That stinks with your experience at the Yachtsman. Good attitude though. I would certainly hope that it's not a laissez-faire attitude on the servers part, because there's a large amount of people out there that it's significantly worse than getting pretty sick. Not that I don't feel your pain there. ;)

Listen, I'm gonna be real right now. I would be like "forget the puzzle!" and would have just stuck the chocolate in my mouth. :lmao:

Okay, for real, I want a closet with princess dresses!

How nice that the CM from Guest Relations came out to give you help before they technically opened. You are absolutely right, that's exactly how they should be.

Willow made a great choice with the makeover. Although I'm sorry that the BBB photographer was underwhelming.

Okay, I am absolutely horrified about the kid peeing all over the floor. There is seriously something wrong with people today. Get over yourselves and help your kid! People today are so self centered, it's really no surprise, is it?

Good choice heading over and riding Dumbo and the Barnstormer first. We didn't get to meet Merida, as much as I wanted to. :sad1:

Okay, I'm in love with the autograph book! The boys would be all like "okay, whatever".

Girl, don't worry. We did that all the time with the boys. "Um, no, we're not getting out of line because you're impatient.....because you're going to like this!"

What you experienced at CRT with the gluten free was actually what I've typically seen at the restaurants. Even at CS. When I've been behind someone that mentions it, they have to go in the back and have the manager come out to help them.

Sounds like you had some great princess experiences at CRT. I'm with you, sometimes the princesses underwhelm, and it's always nice to have one that's really on.

Clearly I fell a little bit behind.
No worries! You made an utterly epic effort to catch up! :thumbsup2

It was the character meals that made it financially helpful for us. I don't even really like dessert, so I would basically have a taste or two and be done. I don't think I actually finished even one course of any meal. I actually lost 50 pounds during the first 3 months of this year - I did NOT want to screw that up. I definitely gained some - I mean, come on, we took a DCL CRUISE the next week :scared1: - but not as much as I feared. Now I just need to refocus and get that gain gone.....

Awwwww, Willow looks so cute in her Snow White dress!
Aww - thank you. :lovestruc I really liked that new Snow White dress - it was very comfy for her, and I thought it looked really cute.

Yay, Willow selfies! I especially like the close up of the eye. :rotfl:
I will TRY not to share the upcoming selfies of her teeth and the back of her throat. :crazy2:

Our server was very odd - she clearly had no interest in providing a signature-level dining experience for us. I get that a two-top of a mom and a little kid is not every server's dream table, but it's not like we weren't racking up a pretty $$$$ bill (despite the DDP, the total is right there for tipping purposes!).

Listen, I'm gonna be real right now. I would be like "forget the puzzle!" and would have just stuck the chocolate in my mouth. :lmao:
:rotfl2: I should have proposed that solution to Willow!

Okay, for real, I want a closet with princess dresses!
Right???? I think my clients might have a whole new level of respect for me if I came to work in princess dresses every day! :scratchin

How nice that the CM from Guest Relations came out to give you help before they technically opened. You are absolutely right, that's exactly how they should be.
He definitely had the Disney magic. pixiedust:

She had a great time and I think she was very happy with her choice. She is currently leaning toward wearing the dress for Halloween, but that could change at any time......

Okay, I am absolutely horrified about the kid peeing all over the floor. There is seriously something wrong with people today. Get over yourselves and help your kid! People today are so self centered, it's really no surprise, is it?
It was so WEIRD. I still find myself hoping that I was missing something, that I somehow totally misunderstood what was going on. I mean, surely, no parent would actually have their child pee a lake-sized puddle in a photograph studio and then not even clean the kid up, right???? It just can't be!!! :scared:

Good choice heading over and riding Dumbo and the Barnstormer first. We didn't get to meet Merida, as much as I wanted to. :sad1:
Oh, I'm sorry you didn't get to meet Merida - she was absolutely incredible. So full of life, so "in character," just a really fun meet. And we were so excited to meet her as we had been waiting for that meet for quite a long time. :goodvibes

Okay, I'm in love with the autograph book! The boys would be all like "okay, whatever".
Thanks! I really was questioning my sanity while working on that crazy thing! And :rotfl2: - I have heard the same from many moms of boys. Apparently, they are just not quite as keen to spend hours of their vacations getting autographs from characters. :confused3

Girl, don't worry. We did that all the time with the boys. "Um, no, we're not getting out of line because you're impatient.....because you're going to like this!"
THANK YOU! I felt like such a nasty parent at the time, but I KNEW it was the right thing to do!

What you experienced at CRT with the gluten free was actually what I've typically seen at the restaurants. Even at CS. When I've been behind someone that mentions it, they have to go in the back and have the manager come out to help them.
CRT and every othe place we ate after the Yachtsman handled the issue phenomenally. And some even had really wonderful choices for me. :thumbsup2

Sounds like you had some great princess experiences at CRT. I'm with you, sometimes the princesses underwhelm, and it's always nice to have one that's really on.
We were really lucky at this meal - every single princess was in rare form, joking around, making a point to know Willow's name, engaging in real conversation with her, enjoyin the autograph pages. It was the *perfect* CRT experience. :lovestruc

Yes, I do agree on TOT- better in WDW- but that's maybe the only one!

And the way we used the same book for a few trips was easy- we could add pages. :)

I bet those were some very special invites you made! Really, your book is gorgeous- if I still had someone around who wanted to get autographs, I would have to go out and splurge on a cricut too.

All those princesses looked great! I have never eaten there- someday I will, tho- I wonder if that Jasmine also is Snow White- she looks like she could be. Glad you had such a great experience! :)

I'm commenting to tell you that I'm going to comment in the morning :)

:rotfl2: I had to quote this because it is not only hysterical but I have to say the same thing ( but it will be tonight :) ) Have been working like a horse and just now catching up...it will also make me remember where I left off

I'm joining in. Your daughter is so adorable! I'm loving all of the princessy stuff! Nothing beats a Magic Kingdom princess day! I know what you're saying about that August heat though. On our August trip everyone would start melting down if we were in the parks past around 1:00. (Myself included.) We made good use of the pools! Can't wait for more.

I think that's right - it's really the only one. It is quite a bit better at DHS, but pretty much everything else is better at DLR. And, get this, I am hatching a major plan to get DLR APs for us for 2014 and make at least 3 trips in 2014! I am so excited to surprise Willow with the APs for Christmas and then take her for her 7th birthday in January! :woohoo:

And the way we used the same book for a few trips was easy- we could add pages. :)
Ahhh - that makes more sense! :rotfl2: Although, given the way DD hunts down characters, that would be one THICK book!

I bet those were some very special invites you made! Really, your book is gorgeous- if I still had someone around who wanted to get autographs, I would have to go out and splurge on a cricut too.
Thanks so much. I really did feel like a lunatic doing it, but we had a ton of fun with it with the characters.

All those princesses looked great! I have never eaten there- someday I will, tho- I wonder if that Jasmine also is Snow White- she looks like she could be. Glad you had such a great experience! :)
Oh, you definitely need to do it at least once. It is not going to be the greatest food you've ever had, but the food is just fine, and it is so special meeting all the princesses right there in the castle :lovestruc

Welcome!! Thanks so much for joining in! It really was a great princess morning - we had a ton of fun, mostly re-doing traditional things for us, but also some new things (like meeting Merida!).

Honestly, the heat came really close to ruining this trip for us. I thought I had planned well with a lot of AC'ed meals and such, but I really should have scheduled a LOT more down time. Live and learn, I guess.

Get Us Out of Here!!

When we finished at CRT and emerged into the Florida heat, we realized that it was HOT and CROWDED. When we checked the WDW app, all wait times were pretty darn long, and we were thinking some pool time sounded pretty darn good. It was about 1:15 at this point. On the way out, we stopped to watch a little bit of Dream Along with Mickey. We happened by just as the princesses and princes were dancing, so DD just HAD to stop.

Apparently, we stopped for a PP pic on the way down Main Street.

We considered stopping to meet Pluto before exiting, but the line was pretty long, and the sun was beating down, so DD refused. The wait time for Mickey at Town Square, however, was 5 minutes, so we jumped all over that. And the posted wait time was not wrong!

DD was so happy to see her old friend Mickey again, although you can certainly see how hot and tired she was at this point.

In the dump shop, DD glommed onto a Baby Goofy that she could not live without, so she spent some more of her hard-earned souvenir money on this. (As you will soon see, Baby Goofy has quite a good staying power and made it into a LOT of our vacation photos.) We headed to the bus. When we arrived at the bus stop, a bus was there waiting for us. We boarded the bus at 1:53, and DD proceeded to chant “Baby Goofy” (thankfully, somewhat quietly) through the entire bus ride to the Boardwalk. Lucky for us (and everyone else), the first stop was the BWI, and we were getting off the bus at 2:13.

Upon returning to the BWI, we got our mugs (included on our DP) and headed down to the Boardwalk Bakery to get some iced tea and lemonade.

Hey, that’s our balcony up there to the right of the Flying Fish sign all the way up.

We went back to our room and changed for the pool. Willow enjoyed the big clown slide several times, and we played around for a bit, but I knew she needed to nap (not that she normally naps at 6 years old, but we were dealing with a time change and a huge sleep deficit at this point), so we headed back to the room after about an hour, I think.

There’s DD coming down the slide from my perspective in the pool.

When we got back to the room, DD did nap - for about an hour and a half!!! :scared1:

At that point, I actually had to wake her up for our dinner ADR. She was pretty grumpy, but she got dressed and ready.

Up Next: Some Fancy Dining in the Wilderness

I'm commenting!!!!

First, how adorable are Willow and Cindy together? The little girl dress really looks a lot like the real one. I love that.

I'm sorry Willow had a few 'moments' at WDW. It's so frustrating when you're there. How can they be cranky in the happiest place on earth?? For the recortd, I would have made Maddie stand in that line to see Ariel too.

Yay! for an awesome CRT lunch! I think we're going to do lunch there next time.

Love the pic of Willow watching Dream Along With Mickey. Cool perspective!

Pool time sounds really nice! I know a lot of people think that slide is creepy, but I think it's fun!

A 90 minute nap?:worship:

You don't DIS for a weekend and look what happens..

Willow sounds like my kind of character hunter. We routinely fill 3-4 books per trip. Of course I still have to get the pictures made to go in them!

I know a lot of people knock the food at CRT but when we ate there last October it was very good and we had some of the best princess interaction that we have ever had! Maybe they are putting the A princess team in there.

Go Roni on loosing 50 pounds! That is very impressive! :cool1:

1PM in August in Florida and everyone is melting! I grew up there and won’t go back in the summer. I think people who tell me they enjoy the heat are just crazy…:rotfl:

I have to laugh at baby Goofy. I think between my two girls we have every “baby” they make. They do still actually care for them.

Christine

I love the clown pool! Our room this last trip looked right out onto it! Oh the memories! Smart move getting that nap in. Hopefully she gets over the grumps fast and you enjoy your ADR.

Great update!
Your daughter is an ADORABLE princess, and how cute is that photo of her all snuggled up with baby Goofy taking a nap.
Thanks for sharing!

And btw - I started my trip report too. It's over at the cruise boards and called "Get off the ship" :rotfl2:
