Heat, Headaches but So Much Fun! My June Birthday TR (Trip Wrap-Up 10/12)

Day Four
June 27th
1:45pm

We left for Epcot around 1:45pm (again, a bus pulled up right away). When we arrived, I went and got us FP's for Soarin' (return time of 7:48-8:48pm). With FP's in hand, we started to make our way over to Canada.

We decided to see if we could check-in a bit early at LeCellier. Once we got to the check-in podium, there were a few families in front of us. All of them were trying to walk up and get a table, but that wasn't happening. The CM was very nice to everyone, but they weren't so nice to her. I'm sure she was happy to see us with an actual ADR! We were able to check-in early and we had a seat inside. After waiting only a few minutes, we were taken to our table. I must say, LeCellier is quite lovely inside!

Madison got the kids pizza with the cheddar cheese soup. Tony and I both got the filet mignon with the mushroom risotto. We both devoured our steaks. Ok, don't flame me or anything but....Tony and I did not care for the cheddar cheese soup. We've had much better at some local restaurants. But, we all LOVED the pretzel bread. I could have made a meal out of that! For dessert, Maddie got an ice cream sundae, Tony got the campfire s'mores and I got the chocolate "moose". Our desserts took quite some time to come out, but here's why:

What a wonderful surprise!

None of us could really finish our desserts, but everything was very delicious. After our late lunch, Madison wanted to do KP again. We headed over to a kiosk and got a time of 4:30pm in Italy. I think it was pretty close to 4pm or so. We made our way over to Italy the long way (past Mexico) and when we got our Kimmunicator, it sent us to Japan.

At this time, I was really not feeling so well. My headache was still there and it was so darn hot outside. Combine that with a very full belly and it's not a good situation. I was super miserable. After completing our Japan assignment, Madison wanted to do another one, so she chose China. Oh boy. Back we went to China in the beating hot sun.

China was a little complicated for us. However, we did take a short break to see Mulan.

I ended up having to sit on a bench and relax for awhile. I was ready to burst into tears because I felt so awful. When I felt a bit better, I got up to look for Tony and Madison, but I had to duck under an awning because the sky decided to open up. Tony & Maddie quickly joined me and we waited for the rain to let up. Once it got down to a sprinkle, they went off to find their last clue. I sat and waited for them. After completing China, we went to Germany so Tony could grab a German beer.

As we walked in the blazing sun, I could feel myself getting worse. I was trying my best to hold myself together and not complain. Madison wanted to see Figment again, so over we went to Imagination. Thank goodness there was no line! I needed to have a seat. Let me tell you, that skunk smell really wasn't helping me out. After Figment, we went to MouseGears and I bought the IllumiNations cd (I highly recommend it!). We then went over to Spaceship Earth (no wait). I waited to take my sunglasses off until we were away from the CM's. I didn't want anyone to see that I had been crying. The picture that was taken of me was downright awful. I looked sicker than a dog.

Once we got off SE, it was around 7pm and I was ready to call it quits. My mouth was hot and I was burning up. I knew that I had a fever. I told Tony and Madison that they could stay at Epcot and I would get myself back to Pop (we still had our FP's for Soarin'). But, Madison got upset and said she wanted to stay with me. I felt so awful. I didn't want to ruin our last night of vacation, but there was no way I could keep going. So, we all walked back to the bus stop (why is that Pop stop so far away?!) and headed back to Pop.

We arrived back at Pop a little before 8pm. I took Madison back to the room to get her ready to swim and Tony got us some food. While I was getting her ready, she burst out crying. When I asked her what was wrong, she told me she was sad that I didn't feel good and that we couldn't go see my favorite fireworks. You see, the plan for the evening was to go to Epcot, eat at LeCellier, do some stuff at Epcot and then go over to MK to see Wishes again at 10pm. When she told me this, I started crying. She was sad because she knews Wishes was my favorite and that I had really wanted to see it again. She is such a compassionate little girl.

Tony got himself some Lo Mein, a cookie for Madison and an apple juice for me. After eating, Tony and Maddie went for a swim while I tried to get some rest. They returned to the room around 9:30pm and I still wasn't in a deep sleep. I just kept tossing and turning. However, over the course of the night, I did get rid of my fever.

*Sorry if this update was a bit of a downer. I tried and tried to keep on going, but my body just wasn't having it. I was feverish, dizzy and nauseous. I felt like I was ruining our vacation. Anyways....there's always next time to see Wishes!*

I'm so sorry your last day on vacation was so hard. No one likes to get sick on vacation. Madison is so sweet to feel bad for you. Such a wonderful child.

I have to agree with you on the cheese soup. I had it on our trip in 2007 and I didn't really care for it at all. Love the pretzel bread!

Your photopass pictures are beautiful.

We saw Wishes that night. Didn't have a really good spot, but we did see them.

I'm only on our second day in the parks so far.

Hi Meghan!! I'm all caught up!! I just LOVE the pics you got of the castle! And ya'll got some great PP pics! I'm so sorry you got sick at WDW! Can't wait to read more!

Besides having a headache, I felt fine that morning. It wasn't until after LeCellier that I started to feel feverish. Just not a pleasant way to walk around WDW. The cheese soup was ok, but I've had better. All of the breads were great, but nothing beat the pretzel bread. I'll be sure to check out your TR!

So glad you were able to catch up. I love how our PP pics turned out on this trip. So far, PP has not let me down! :goodvibes

Awww Meghan I'm so sorry you felt so badly your last day at Disney!! And you are right Madison is such a caring sweetheart!!!! Your photopass pictures look really good though!!

I've totally had those days at Disney, I know how you felt! At least you're able to say next time! That's what we've always done when we didn't do something we wanted.

I'm sorry you felt bad.

Ugh, that rain! I was freaking out that we were going to miss the Luau! But, it cleared up of course!

Aw, I feel so badly for you! What a compasionate daughter you have

I'm glad you got to eat at LeCellier. BTW, they have pretzel rolls at Wegman's that a very good. They are with the bulk rolls section.

(nice to meet you the other day!)

I'm glad we took those photos right when we got there. I looked nothing like that by the time we left the park!

I have to tell myself next time or else I'll really get sad. At least I have the "Wishes" cd and youtube to keep me happy!

The rain really didn't last too long, which was nice. At that point in time though, the weather was really matching my mood!

Oooo! I guess I'll be making a stop at Wegmans soon to get some of those rolls. It was awesome that I got to meet you the other day! Thanks for saying hello. (please disregard those aweful camo t-shirts that made us wear that day!)

So sorry you got sick that last day. I still think you have gotten some amazing PP pictures. And you must be doing something right to have such a darling daughter who clearly understands empathy and compassion. Kudos! I can't wait to hear when you plan your next trip!

Oh, Meghan! Sorry you felt so sick the last night, but fabulous job on raising such a sweet, compassionate daughter!
When I was 7 at Disney, I ate some bad CS food and my mom and I spent the entire night in the hotel bathroom, throwing up. It was terrible! I remember feeling guilty that my mom couldn't go have fun with the rest of my family because she was caring for me!
Don't worry, you'll make it up with more wonderful trips in the future!

I can totally understan how you felt. I woke up this AM with alot of the same feelings. I hate feeling blah!~ And we are supposed to go to our fair today and tomorrow!
Also Claire got sick on 2 of our trips and it was so hard.

Thanks. Not that we don't teach Madison about compassion, but I truly think she was born like that. She's been like that she was very small. I really wish I knew when that next trip would be. We're going to Maryland & Virginia next summer (my cousin is getting married in Annapolis now) so no trip next year. 2011 is our baby year (I'd love a summer baby!) and 2012 is hopefully our trip to Hawaii for our 10 year anniversary. Sooo....right now it's looking like we'll get back to WDW in 2013 or 2014. :sad1: That is very upsetting to me!

Madison is such a sweetie. She always takes care of me when I'm not feeling well. How terrible that you got so sick at WDW. Even though I felt awful at the end of our trip, it was still one of the best trips to Disney I've ever had.

I hate waking up feeling yucky. It just puts a damper on the whole day.

Well, today is Madison's first day of school and I miss her so much! When she woke up, she said she was feeling nervous. I thought that was a bit strange for her because she has never felt nervous about a 1st day of school before. Plus, this was the first time she's gone to the same school! She went to an independent pre-school, she was in one district for kindergarden and then we switched districts for 1st grade. So, she already knows all of the special area teachers, lunch monitors, principal, etc. She knows 4 kids in her classroom and she met her teacher.

By the time we got to school (a 2-minute drive), she was feeling better. She couldn't wait to get inside and see her friends. Here are some pics I took of her this morning.

I still cannot believe that she started 2nd grade today. How does time go by so quickly? Sometimes, I look at her and can't believe how big she's gotten. She's so grown up!

Aw she looks precious!! My little guy is still too young for school but when I saw all the school buses this year, I started crying just thinking about him going one day!! LOL

She looks so cute. They grow up so fast!

Thanks! She seems to grow up each and every day.

Cherish every single moment! Before you know it, he'll be heading off to kindergarden. When Madison started school, my husband and I followed the school bus from our apt all the way to the school! We pulled over in front of the school and watched her get off the bus and enter the school. I was crying like a baby!

I'm so sorry your last full day in the parks was so crummy. Being sick is the WORST! But Madison was such a sweetie--what a compassionate little girl :goodvibes And her school pictures are precious!! What a cutie!! :cutie:

Great 1st day of school pics! I'm so impressed that you've posted them already!
I took a bunch, but had to run off to work for most of the day. I'm going to try to get home in time for the bus today too. It was a good start, even though Paige squirted toothpaste all over the back of Sarah's shirt. Yup, she did! So we had a quick change in wardrobe. :) I stayed up and made Scotcheroos for their 1st day treat. (since I had to work today!).
They're pretty excited - as am I! They've been spending WAY too much time together and are getting on each other's nerves. It's also their first night of gymnastics for the fall session! Busy day.
Sorry to hijack - back to business!!

Madison looks so grown up for her first day of school. I hope she had a great day.

Do you start teaching dance again soon?

Danielle starts back to dance class on Wednesday.
