Heartbroken & Not Sure What to Do :(

I bought one of the navy blue pullover windbreakers on the Dream this past weekend. I distinctly remember re-folding it into it's pouch, and packing it before putting our suitcases out for pickup Saturday night.

It's gone.

Somehow between being packed & put out for pickup and getting home & unpacking, it disappeared.

What can I do? Is there a way to contact Disney and get it replaced? It only cost $16, but this was my first cruise and that jacket has sentimental value for me.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. I don't think that DCL will be able to replace it for you. Maybe a kind DISer that is going soon could help you.

I would call DCL and explain what happened. It's possible you left it in the room. The worst they can say is "Sorry...your loss", the best outcome would be they send you a new one. My DS left a toy gun in the stateroom that we had purchased in Mickeys Mates. We didn't realize until we got home. I called DCL and they gladly sent me a replacement. It's just a $16 jacket...it's not like you're claiming that you lost a $500 souvenir...chances are they just might send you a new one. Here's the number to DCL: (800) 951-3532


ETA: If DCL says "Sorry...your loss", then I would suggest going to the Cruise meet threads and finding an upcoming cruise thread and taking the suggestion of jiminyC Fan and asking another kind DISer to help you out.

You really ought to give Lost and Found a call too. Here is the thread where I just posted the other day about our happy lost and found story. The number is in there. They are very nice and you just never know if you dropped it somewhere in the hallway, etc. they might have it!

Update:

Soooo... DH finally admitted that he opened the suitcase to put more items in and remembers putting my jacket (in the pouch) on the back of the couch while repacking... and doesn't remember if he put it back in or not.

That said, there's a good chance it fell behind the couch and was not repacked.

I have now called Lost & Found as well. Let's hope it is behind the couch and will be found and returned to me... so I don't have to throw him overboard on our next cruise.

DCL called back - they said they have checked Lost & Found from both my cruise and the one after and have not located my jacket.

If someone cruising soon is brave enough to knock on the door of 7170 and ask the occupants to check behind the couch, chances are it's still there!

Anyhow, I would love to have one picked up for me, so please PM me if you are going soon and are willing to. However, the $16 price was a special price for spending $25 and don't want anyone spending any money they wouldn't have been already! Does anyone know the regular price?

I know what you mean, last month my hubby bought me a snow globe on the wonder for my 40th, tinks head was broken off when I unpacked My reaction was over the top, but I had been having a bad week, Im sorry, but someone here on this lovely place will fix you up!

don't give up just yet. Our lost bag (huge!) took 2 weeks to make its way to Lost and Found at the port. You never know!

I was just feeling discouraged about attitudes on here...just read a post and someone was giving another poster a lesson on spelling (which was rather rude considering we all type fast).
