Heartbroken for my Grandfather (Happy Update post#7)

I am SO sad for him. He was selected to attend an HBO sponsored trip to DC for their new WWII miniseries. ( http://www.businessinsider.com/hbo-pays-for-250-wwii-veterans-trips-to-dc-2010-3) He has been talking about it for weeks, and was just over the moon. He leaves tomorrow.

He woke up this morning with a medical issue that will most likely prevent him from going My grandmother says she's never seen him this down. They live across the country from me, so I can't even bring the boys over to cheer him up. I am just hoping the doctors are able to patch him up so he can go (they think it might be a medication issue).

I sure hope that everything can be worked out so he can go, could maybe a family-member travel with him, oh I don't know I'm just throwing out possibilities here, I don't even know your grandfather and it upsets me.

UPDATE!

It was a bad reaction to a medication. The doctor gave him the go ahead to stop the med mid-day yesterday, and the side effect stopped. He woke up this morning right as rain, and was able to go on the trip. I feel so much better now. Thank you all for your thoughts

I'm so glad your grandfather gets to go to the reunion. Happy that he is feeling much better.

I am so excited for The Pacific series. We've been watching the Band of Brothers series as a warm up for it. If The Pacific is half as good as Band of Brothers, it will be fantastic.
