Hi all,

Some advice please.
My dad is 62, and had a heart attack 5yrs ago, and had some stents fitted. We are all going to orlando in Sept, and I am having trouble finding out if this will affect what rides he can go on. He is in fine health now.
He wouldnt want to go on the huge coasters such as hulk/kraken etc, but I am not sure if he should stay away from stuff like ExpEv, Space/splash mountain, dinosaur, mission space etc. I think he would be up for all of these, but dont want to cause him to have any health issues.

I know that the health warnings they have on signs outside of the rides tend to be a little over the top due to the parks not wanting to get sued (although I cant find a list of these anywhere), but I just want to be safe, and give him some sensible advice, without him missing out on lots of fun!

Any thoughts?
Sarah

My sensible advice would be to pay attention to those signs, 'over the top' they may be but they ARE there for a reason.

Let your dad read the signs, have a look at the ride then see what he feels like :)

we took my grandad on soarin and he loved it (he had a triple heart bypass 18 months beforehand), he also went on lots of other rides(no biggies though...lol), as a rule if my 4 year old did it grandad did too!

It's probably best if he talks to his doctor before he goes. Better he misses some rides than ends up in hospital on holiday.

Personally I'd totally agree with Luke.

Anything which has the warning sign on it, I wouldn't ride. It's really not worth the risk in my eyes.

There's plenty to do in and around Disney even if these bigger rides aren't done. I'm sure your Dad would be happy to people watch and maybe watch for you guys to ride past and give him a wave if possible.

With the likes of EE at AK, I'd let him queue with you, as the theming in the main queue is fantastic! Even if he doesn't ride, once at the start I'm sure the CM's can let him off through the exit and he can wait for your return there :thumbsup2
