Hearing Aid question

My DS6 has a hearing aid. He has misplaced it several times for a few hours and it wrecks havoc on my blood pressure. I was thinking about it this evening and had an AHA moment, I think. Can you add hearing aids on to most homeowners insurance policies? Anyone have experience in this area? Thanks for any advice.

you have to check with your insurer but many times hearing aids can be added on. Some manufacturers of hearings aids have really good warranties and there are clips that can slip over the hearing aid and attach to a shirt so he won't misplace it as easily if this is a common thing to happen.

Hey, my husband is 51 and he loses his hearing aid now and then, too! Does the same thing to my blood pressure...

I never thought to aid the hearing aids to our homeowers policy. Thanks for the idea, I will check into that!

Yes you can add them but it may be cost prohibitive to do so. For a child, it might be worth adding. When I looked into adding my hearing aids it was gong to be almost $1000/year ($500 for each one). This was about 10 years ago and I have not looked into it since.

If your child has medicaid for his hearing loss then when/if he looses the aids you just need to request a replacement. If they're under a year old the manufacture will replace it one time if lost of damaged beyond repair. You can add a rider on your insurance or you can extend the Loss & Damage warranty through the hearing aid company. What manufacture are they?
