What scum, what garbage 'people' they are. Spineless trash. If true, God rest his soul, comfort for his family/friends/fellow soldiers.

May God help them when the Marines find them.

How awful, that just sickens me. I knew they would though, I even told DH just yesterday that they would not let him go alive. They are truly a different breed, I just don't see how they can sleep @ night. Sick, Sick, Sick!!!

It surprises us so much when something like this happens, but reminds me of what our preacher said in church a few weeks ago.

"It should not surprise us when Un-Godly people do Un-Godly things."

I guess this pretty much sums up those "creatures" (I don't know that we should call them people), - Un-Godly people doing Un-Godly acts.

My thoughts & prayers are with his family.

May he rest in peace if the story is confirmed to be true. It appears the situation in Iraq is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. Let's all pray that the Iraqi people understand that we really are trying to help them and they can learn to govern themselves so our servicemen and women can come home!

I completely agree with you Dan - but there is also scum in our own forces as well....
One thing though, we do not condone it. If we are aware of it, we do take action............

........Four decorated soldiers attached to Fort Hood's 4th Infantry Division have been formally accused........
(bolding my own)

Thanks for the link Dan.  :(

These beheadings are really getting to me. I had a dream the other night that I found Mr. Tramp with both of his legs chopped off. It was so horrific - and I know is related to what is going on in the world. :( I guess this way of killing has been going on forever - I seem to remember many Biblical references to it. It really is too much to stomach. :( :( :( :(

My thoughts and prayers are with his family. This is so sad. :(

I'm not sure we're taking enough action though,, the torture of the Iraqi's goes beyond what they suffered..it has cost Americans lives as well..I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps we need to severely punish those involved, one to set an example and discourage further wrondoing..and 2 to show the world we will not tolerate such behaviour from anyone including our own...

I had really hoped that they would not kill this one because he was a muslem. I think this clearly shows these people aren't doing this in the name of religion, they are doing it in the name of terror.

We should either go in there and take care of this in a BIG way or we should walk away. In other words I'm saying we should go into a 'hot-spot' and announce that if you aren't a terrorist you need to leave, NOW, and screen everyone leaving. Then we go in and clear out EVERY person left (taking prisoners if possible but clearing them out one way or the other). Yes, this does mean that we are violating a 'right to privacy' that we assume we have in the US and want to extend to others but this is war and we need to use every tactic we have available to win this war and go home.

But if we cannot do this, either because we lack the will to do it ourselves or because of political pressure at home or abroad then we need to pack up and leave tomorrow. Saddam is gone, there is a gov't in place and some of the neighboring countries have offered help to them in getting control of their country. I surely won't mind if the US just says goodbye now.

That is so sad. I feel really sorry for the family. They should find these guys and do the old time thing. Give them a trial, if found guilty, do a old time hanging, tree and all. ;)

Please note, I said a trial first..... then the punishment should be shown all over the world as a hanging, then maybe some of these bad guys would think first about what they are doling. But then again, NO, they wouldn't , they think they are doing this for their CAUSE and for their God.

An Arab News Correspondent who I believe now lives here was interviewed they other night on Fox News. He said the beheadings were meant to shock the US. He suggested that the US networks not run any tapes obtained from the terrorists or Al Jazeera (sp). By showing these tapes continuously on TV our media is doing exactly what they want. I wonder if any of the network/cable programs would have the integrity to not show footage? I highly doubt it.

My thoughts are with this young mans family.

Things are going to get worse before they get any better. :( Part of me wishes the military would just drop one big bomb, just to get this mess over with. Then the other part of me realizes that these goons do not hold the values that most of the Iraqi people do and should not be allowed to take control over an entire country. More Iraqi citizens need to stand up and help rid THEIR country of these monsters.

These "people" are absolutely sickening. They claim to be doing things in the name of their God. No loving God would condone actions like this. I hope they all rot in the place they're sure to go eventually.

I have been having nightmares since this has started. One night last week I had an awful dream that I was in airport and terrorist came in and just started shooting everyone. There are a lot more gory details that I wont get into but it's definitely been bothering me. One of my major concerns is when I have dreams they end up coming true. When I explained the airport to a friend who travels a lot (without telling them why) to see if it described an actual place - without thinking twice about it they said it was Baltimore International!! I'm sure it's all coincidental but very scary. I've stopped looking at the news for now.

That is just too sad and horrible for words.

As someone whose DH is over there in the region of the big sandbox, my worst nightmare is that he would be captured and would have to go through all the televised humiliation and pain that these hostages have had to endure prior to their deaths. Better to just get shot by a sniper, I'm afraid! :( On the other hand, does my fear of DH being kidnapped mean that I've been "terrorized" by the terrorists and that I think we should leave the job we started over there (rightly or wrongly) undone? No! When I hear of people being beheaded, etc. the LAST thing I think is, "Wow, those guys who just beheaded that man are RIGHT--we should definitely do what they say!" I don't know what the solution to the Iraq/Afghanistan/Al Quaeda solution is, and I know our country has made some costly miscalculations and mistakes, but there is NO way that I'm going to let the barbarism of vicious people sway my opinions one way or the other.
