Congratulations on working on changing your lifestyle. You really should have no problems finding suitable foods to eat at WDW.
There are a few threads about 'losing weight for Mickey' which might be helpful. Also, there are a number of WW Dis'ers also.
You might try posting with the words WW Points in the title if you don't get the answers you're looking for in this thread. Or consider editing this thread and adding WW Points in the title. That might help.
Disney is great about working with People's dietary needs. The chef's are all great (well, most of them anyway) and will accommodate any reasonable request.
Of course anything packaged (like Ice cream from the carts) will come with info you can point out. Restaurants are a bit more challenging but it's no different than going out to eat at home. You do have to be vigilant and ask for no butter, grill only, sauce on the side, things like that.
Planning is going to be your key. Having snacks you like versus just eating anything will help to keep you on track. I see you are staying on property (b/c you mentioned you'd be on the
DDP). Depending on what property you stay out, it may be worth packing things with you. I know that many people who stay at POP or All-Star take lots of microwaveable things b/c the food court is easy to use. If you are staying in a villa with a kitchen and going shopping for some food, you can always stock up on veggies and fruit.
Also, Disney does have fruit readily available in the parks. Of course it's not cheap, but if you are DDP then the fruit would count as one snack.
Watch your counter service meals b/c the desserts tend to be very high point items, unless you ask for fruit.
Disney really tries to have options for everyone. At table service just let your server know that you are on a low fat diet and he/she can help you make better choices.
But, that all being said, enjoy yourself. If you want to keep track of points do so, but if you go over your daily amount just write it down and be done with it. Don't beat yourself up. You will do a lot of walking that you may not normally do. Whether you write down 50 or not, if you had 50 points in one day then it is what it is. It's not an every day thing and maybe the next day you will be less likely to eat the full dessert and instead opt for just a bite. And remember just b/c it comes with the DDP (dessert) doesn't mean you have to eat the whole thing and lick the plate too. Portions may be large but you don't have to eat all of it. If you leave it on your plate, no worries!
Enjoy your trip! You'll do just fine!!!
P.S. If you're a Dole Whip girl, I heard that 1/2 cup is 2 points.
