What can you guys suggest to me for a drinking......
I have had kidney stones in the past and i know the key is to drink lots of water. My only problem is that water makes me feel terrible. I get bloated and nauseous from drinking water. Cranberry juice would be the next best thing but that gives me heartburn (can't win).
So other than milk, water, or OJ.....what else is healthy to drink alot of. I don't want soda, too much sugar. I hate seltzer, tonic, etc.....
doesn't really leave very much else does it???
Thanks if you can come up with an idea.......

My dad swears by Ocean Spray's Ruby Red. He is bad to get kidney infections and he drinks alot of this. Since he started, his infections have been few and far between.

Green tea? Or my newest favorite...Snapple White Tea

Have you tried Cran-Grape? Another is Pomegrant juice its sold by the name POM

I'd probably try a few different things and not get hung up on one thing all day.

Nothing better than home-brewed iced tea. You can make it as sweet and as dilute or strong as you like it.

You could do a glass of water a day, sip a glass of iced tea, and then try some juice later in the day.

Sounds like time for some beer to me!:drinking1 Seriously, I have heard that it's good for kidney stones if you enjoy a brew.

Green Tea! It's full of stuff that's good for you. I've recently started drinking Lipton Citrus Green Tea. It is in the water/gatorade section of the store. It also comes in Diet, if you're worried about the sugar content. It is good stuff. :thumbsup2

Yes, green tea is good. I've heard that white tea is even better for you though...if you can find it. :)

When I gave up soda/tea and strictly just drank water (which was hard for me to get used to) I would put some lemon juice into my bottle of water. The lemon is also good for your system. I soon got used to lots of water and gave up the lemon except when I am at a restaurant and they give me tap water. I drink anywhere from 60 to 90 oz a day now. Yep, I go to the bathroom ALOT but I am so much healthier now. Skin, kidneys...everything! I am caffeine free also so I have those benefits, too.

For all of you who are drinking the store-bought, Green Tea beverages: I just read an article done by the Center for Sciene in the Public Interest (a non-profit) that pretty much states that these drinks are worthless. To quote from their article:

Over the past 10 years, sales of ready-to-drink bottled teas like Arizona, Nestea, Snapple, Lipton, and Sobe have grown almost tenfold. While that's good news for the companies, it may not be so good for people who think they're getting real tea.

Oregon State University researchers have found that freshly brewed green or black teas contain 10 to 100 times more antioxidants than bottled teas.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture found much the same. According to its analysis, an 8-oz cup of freshly brewed green tea contains 196 mgs of the anitioxidant EGCG, while a cup of bottle green tea contains just 9 mg.

And a cup of freshly brewed black tea contains 27 mg of EGCG, saus the USDA, while a cup of bottled black tea has 1 mg--about the same as instant or diet teas. (Freshly brewed oolong tea contains 85 mg)

Many of the currently available cold bottled teas sold in the U.S. are more like diluted sugar water than something that may protect your health.

My public service announcement for Thursday!;)

I drink a lot of flavored seltzer water, or pomegranate juice with seltzer water.

I love the V8 fusion juices, they are all natural and contain a serving of both fruits and vegetables in each glass. Be careful what juices you drink, many of them are full of all kinds of other things than juice.

And for all those bottles teas, so many of them contain high fructose corn syrup - not even remotely close to being something I would want to put in my body :scared1:

Try to stick with the natural stuff like water (good old spring water is the best), home brewed teas, and natural juices. I've even tried some of those natural sodas fom the organics section, they weren't too bad. But still be careful of what you buy, plenty of things that say 'natural' are not even close.

I'm not weird.. I swear.

Have you tried sticking with water for a couple of weeks? The nausea you feel might be your body de-toxing. Once you get the yucks out of your system, you may not have an upset stomach any longer. There really isn't much better for you than water.

Another vote for POM brand pomegranate juice. My favorite is pomegranate/blueberry.

I too have major kidney and bladder stones. I also get naceous(Sp?) from plain water.

A slice of lemon or lime and lots of ice makes it MUCH better. I actually WANT glasses of icewater with lemon or lime now, no forcing neccesary.

Also you said you hate seltzer/tonic water..so do I but it's really super yummy when you mix it with juice. YAY for non alcoholic juice SPRITZERS!!!

ice tea is actually terrible for kidney stones if your stones are mostly oxolate. So be careful there too (i'm sure you already knew this).
Good luck! I know it's really hard to find things to drink. I totally sympathize :wizard:

Have you tried cutting the cranberry juice half and half with water? Maybe that will help with the heartburn.

I read that, too, (thanks for posting it) and if you look on the label you can already see how many of them have so much sugar.

I like tea and I also make my own juice and fruit smoothies using my juicer and Magic Blender.
