hi, I am at the moment trying to make a short list of restaurants for are trip next October, a little early I know however with all the options this could take a while.

We prefer to eat at fine dining places with table service most of the time however I was wondering what restaurants are best for children to go to. So far thinking about the California Grill and the one at AKL (can not remember its name)

we have one dd who will be 5 and she is not allowed to eat chicken nuggets burgers, fizzy drinks etc (basically mcdonald type food). Is there places that do children menus that don't include these options and have options such as grilled chicken, fish, pasta or freshly made pizza.

Also what type of food do the buffet character meals serve?

Can't answer you question, but just wanted to say kudos to you for not feeding your child junk. You are a rare find! :)

Tusker House at AK has a rotisserie chicken leg and mashed potatoes fand applesauce for a kids meal.

50s Prime Time Cafe at MGM has a grilled chicken breast, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy for a kids meal.

Brown Derby at MGM has a grilled chicken breast, red potatoes and steamed veggies on the kids menu.

Mama Melrose at MGM has a pick your own pasta on the kids menu.

Sci Fi at MGM has the following on their kids menu:
Appetizers:
Carrot and Celery Sticks with Ranch Dressing $1.99
Fruit and Cheese with a Mango Yogurt Dip $1.99
Meal:
Grilled Chicken Breast roasted potatoes and green beans $5.99

Coral Reef at EPCOT has:
Grilled Chicken Breast served with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables $7.99
Fresh Catch of the Day served with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables $8.99

Liberty Tree Tavern at MK has:
Pluto's Pilgrim Feast - turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy $5.99
Donald's Fresh From the Harbour - salmon served with mashed potatoes $5.99

The Plaza Restaurant at MK has:

Thank you very much, thats just what I am looking for.

Chefs de France offered a fish and chips kids meal. Not perfect, but better than some options. It was not the traditional batter fried stuff where there is more batter than fish.

Teppanyaki dining in Japan offers "Donald's Favorite" which is chicken breast done on the grill with a veggie mix (corn, peas, lima beans, green beans) and served with rice.

I know you said you are more table service types, but there are some good counter service choices available too...

Columbia Harbor House in MK offers a kids meal that mine loved! It was grilled chicken (no breading) served chilled with ranch dip, grapes and goldfish. They would have eaten it every night if we had allowed them.

Cosmic Rays (also in MK) had a great kids menu (from allearsnet.com):
Chicken Noodle Soup served with cheddar crackers, applesauce, and choice of child beverage $3.99

Chicken Garden Salad served with ranch dressing, cheddar crackers, applesauce and choice of child beverage $3.99

Also, with the buffet restaurants, our DD4 choose most of her food from the adult buffet, since many of the kids buffets are pretty condescending in that they assume all kids will eat are Mac and Cheese and chicken fingers.
