Health insurance $$ thru employer

After a long time without health insurance I finally have some thru my employer. It has been a long time since i have had any thru an employer and i know things have changed . I have an HMO option and I have only myself insured. thru pay check deductions I am paying over 1000.00 per yr, which seem high to me. Can anyone tell me if this seems right? I know employers are paying less towards employyees healt care but they cant be paying much for me if i am still paying that much..or am i totally out of the loop?
you really need to check with your HR department. There are various levels.

Depending on the company you may pay more or less.

Our company has HMO/PPO and HiRisk Investor (lowest rates, but highest out of pocket)

biweekly I pay $180 for a family coverage. that is under $5K for the year with the HMO. I know for single its about $75 biweekly, so you are paying less.

You are totally out of the loop. Your health insurance probably costs between $350-$500.

I'm surprised they didn't tell you how much it is. We tell our employees so they can see the actual value of their benefits.

yes. Our company pays about $200-300 biweekly on all teh employees' behalf. Same with my retirement. Each month they pay about $400.

:scared1: This thread makes me never want to leave my company.

I pay (single, medium coverage- we have low, medium and high choices) $47/month, with $15/month prescription and $6/month dental. Works out to $744/year not including dental.
