If it doesn't work, try typing travelzoo.com into your search engine. This was sent to me by them - via email - and is good till the end of September.. (Darn! I'm not going to Devember..) I didn't read all the way through it, but I figure it might be worth a look...

I think it said somewhere in the article that the $49 rate applies to Sunday thru Thursday.. Seems that most places these days split the rate and throw in a higher rate for Sat. & Sun.. :(

I was excited too but I need Fri and Sat also, and 3 rooms each night. Thanks for posting though. It's still a good rate and Sun-Thurs is a great rate.

Getting the Safari for 49.00 is a great price ! I stayed there last year and yes it was 49.00 during the week and 89.00 for the weekend. The 89.00 is still less than there regular rate which you can usually get for around 99.00. Great place to stay - nice pool with a water slide - nice buffet breakfast, great location right outside the gates at downtown Disney.

Just did a quick calculation, and even if you throw in the $89 a night for Friday & Saturday, that only averages out to about $60.43 a night..

Don't know if that's a good rate for that place (I've never been) but I don't think there's an awful lot of nice places you can get (other than thru a bidding./auction site) for only $60.43 a night!! ;)

Just returned from this hotel and loved it especially if you are upgraded to a suite as we were.

I am heading to the Sheraton Safarri June 25. How did you get upgraded? I applied for a Starwood card, but it hasn't come in the mail yet. Any suggestions?

Even if you don't have the card yet call Sheraton and have them add your Starwood # to your reservation. I am Starwood Gold but I still think that your chances for upgradedare good because they have 1 whole building of suites.

Guess it depends on luck.
I have a card and was upgraded to a pool view from the parking lot view but no suite

Do you have to have a card to get an upgrade?

I don't have a Starwood card--not sure what it is.

More reviews would be great, too :)

Thanks, y'all!

Anyone stayed here? Did you like it? Are the rooms big enough for a family of four?

We loved it... had two beds not sure if doubles or queens, had
a table... about the same size as the Disney moderates as we
stayed at the Sheraton for 6 nights and then went to the Port Orleans for the end of the trip and if I could have gotten the 49.00 rate added to my existing reservations I would have just stayed at the Sheraton.

I have been able to get this hotel in Sept. and Oct. the past 3 yrs. for 45 a night using Priceline.com and was told on these boards that I bid to high.

I just returned and we were upgraded to a suite but location was terrible right accross an outdoor elevator. Heard people all day long. I do not think that it was in a separate building. It was a mini suite with a mini kithennette. I was upgraded because of my card but would have rather have a nice and quiet room. Had lot of issues with the room we received and hope nobody gets that room but management took care of everything in a satisfactory way.

After looking at the hotel, I would ask for a room in the main building.

The customer service has really improved from my previous visits. While checking out, I noticed in the lobby a sweet sleeper bed with the sign "coming soon" so looks like the Sweet Sleeper beds are on their way.

We just returned from our Disney trip - stayed at the Sheraton Safari for a week. We were upgraded to a pool view room but they did not have any suites available. The room was fine. It was a non-smoking room although upon first entering it did have a smokey musty smell, but I either got used to it or it went away.

Overall, I would definitely stay at this hotel again. You can't beat the location, there are so many restaurants nearby and shops, grocery stores, etc. My son loved the pool. People have said the breakfast buffet was great. I thought it was ok, my son wasn't happy with it. They didn't have much on it that he liked. There is a Sizzler next door that had a good breakfast buffet and an IHOP and a Shoneys accross the street - better prices there and more of a selection. There's a pizza hut right next door, and lots of other places to eat. Everything is open late in this area.

I would recommend this hotel if you are not expecting first class treatment. It is a good solid basic hotel with a friendly staff and clean rooms.
