I've been meaning to post this since we've been back for 3 weeks now ... just an FYI for anyone interested.

I thought fridges were permanently installed at WL, so we picked up a bag of perishables with our limo grocery stop. Our room did not have a fridge and there were none available. I was told that Bell Services "might" store our things in a refrigerator if I asked; they were extremely reluctant for some reason - I did notice that the receipt said "medicine" on it so maybe they have a policy of only storing meds - but after I pleaded, they relented. Of course, everytime I wanted something I had to call Bell Services (and tip them accordingly!) but that was better than having the milk, etc. go bad, I guess.

We were only there for 3 nights and a fridge appeared after our 2nd night.

I was told during that fridges are not guaranteed at WL so, not sure - someone else probably has better info - if you should put a fridge on your room request if you plan to make a grocery stop before arriving and absolutely require it.

Other than that and the middle of the night noise from the service area that carried clearly to our woods view room, we loved WL. It was beautiful and relaxing. Despite the noise, I would choose our room again in a heartbeat for it's beautiful view of the lake, the castle and Wishes - we were not expecting it and spent much time sitting on the balcony soaking up the peacefulness.

Thanks for the info! We'll be at WL for Spring Break (3/19-25) - I was definitely expecting a refrigerator. I'll call and have it added as a room request.

When we were at the Poly over Thanksgiving there was not one in the room. I called and requested one with no problem. I guess the WL is not as deluxe as the Poly?

I don't think it has to do with the level of "deluxeness" (ooohwee, did I just make up a word? ) though WL is certainly less expensive than the Poly. I think it's all based on availability, so at the Poly they had a fridge available to give to you while there wasn't one available for us.

That's good to know for us too that Poly doesn't have them permanently installed either (maybe that is changing with the refurb though?). We're hoping to stay at the Poly this December.

Have a great time!

The same thing happened to us on February 4th at WL. We used the recycling can as a makeshift fridge....loaded it with ice and it kept our milk cool until the real fridge came the next evening. We didn't check-in until 7:00 p.m. due to our flight. I figured that this might be the reason why they were out of fridges even though we asked for one in our room request. Anyway, yes, we loved WL. It is a beautiful resort :flower:

When you buy your food items - pick up a foam ice chest.
Use ice from the machines at the resort - replace in the AM & PM.

If you have a refrigerator in the room - you are in luck.
If not - use the ice chest as back-up.

Just a thought.

Thanks for the post. I just called WL directly because we will be there in late March. I asked Emily if I needed to add it to our reservation and she said no that they are guaranteed. I asked if it could be added to our reservation and she said no it wasn't needed. Not sure what's correct.

I am glad they told you that - maybe they are in process of being permanently installed in each room? Maybe it's "guaranteed" until you get on-site, but, if you happen not to have one in your room, it becomes "not guaranteed". :rotfl:

*shrug* Disney so often seems in flux and inconsistent. If that is what they told you, I would consider it a fact. I just wanted to share my experience. I hope no one else in the future has to wrestle with the situation!

Thanks again. I'm not sure I trust their version so I think we will buy a cooler.

FWIW, we stayed at POFQ in January, and there was a permanently installed fridge there (built into a cabinet). Hopefully, they are getting around to all the other non-value resorts. Maybe that's what she meant at WL?

Thanks for the update. Do you mind if I ask which room you had. Were you on an upper floor. My Dad is very light sleeper.

Sammie, we were in room 5034, so 5th floor and it was one of the first couple rooms on the last wing. I would hope for just a couple rooms further down that hallway away from the service area which is behind the first wing. Not describing this very well but I think you can see what I mean from the WL map. It was a great location for the view, plus the elevators were near, Roaring Forks was a short walk from the elevators and the doors out to the boat dock were close too.

Goofytime, fridges are free.
