I just went online to check my reservation in order to see if I could make payments over the internet or not. This is what was there:

$200 deposit = April 1st (the day I booked it)
$200 deposit = due April 15th .....what!?!?!

I immediately payed the second deposit as panic set in (lol, I am a little high strung!)

This was very bizarre, the CM that booked me did not say another deposit was due and neither did my confirmation.

I am assuming that this is the deposit on the second room...Its not that I lost my reservation or anything but it was quite a shock.

When you book a package it is 200.00 per room for a deposit. I am suprised they did not tell you this when you booked. I had to put a deposit on each room on the day that I booked them.

Believe me I WAS surprised myself and would have had NO problem with the two deposits if he had told me....Disney Visa right there and then lol! I had read questions from people here asking whether double deposits were necessary when booking two rooms and could have sworn that I was lulled into a false sense of security by a post that said the deposit is per FAMILY and that only one $200 deposit was requested.......glad I caught this before (HORRORS!!!) I lost one of my rooms :(.....that would have been a kicker-NOT

I booked 2 rooms for a friend of mine and the CM was very clear that I only needed to put down $200. She told me since the rooms were on the same ressie number I did not need $400 down. I don't have her numbers to check tonight but I will look first thing in the morning. I know her confirmation did not say anything additional was due until final payment. :worried:

I was given a single reservation number, and only charged ONE $200 deposit for our 2 rooms. I even called a couple of days later and changed resorts (no price difference) and had CRO make sure there was no price difference ( I already knew there wouldn't be, just gotta double check things!) She looked, and nope, no further deposit was due. She transferred my original $200 deposit and I was done. I checked online a few hours later, to make sure it all looked correct. The changed ressie was online, and showed my $200 deposit...but also showed $200 more due in 2 weeks. SO I paid it online right away.

A few days later, I called to add a request. I asked what had happened with the deposits. She told me it was $200 per PACKAGE, and that since we were all on one reservation number, we were a single package...therefore there was not another deposit due. I had already paid the extra, so didn't matter. Just wish we knew what the scoop really is!
