For any spring breakers going to or coming from the world-I75/64 just north of Lexington, KY will be from 3 lanes to 1 from Friday afternoon through Sunday night. This same closure last fall created 8 mile backups southbound and 30 mile backups northbound. Most central KY schools release for break Friday afternoon and this area will be busy.

There are several local roads to bypass this mess, just be prepared!!

I won't be traveling this weekend, but thanks for the heads up. Susan

Thanks for the info. We'll be travelling next weekend, 4/6/06 to be exact. Do they expect the construction to be done by then?

The closure is expected to last from 8 PM Friday evening to 2 PM Sunday-they anticipate the highway to be back to full lanes for next weekend as Keeneland race track opens which draws thousands from out of state.

My DH will be travelling back to Lexington on Sunday. What time do you think the roads will re-open on Sunday night? Thanks!

It looks to be back to full steam at some point Sunday afternoon.

If coming to Lexington-it may be wise to get off at the Athens exit and take 25/421 into town. There will be a ton of traffic heading south this weekend, as most local schools start spring break today--a few colleges return to the area for Monday, making Sunday traffic northbound heavier.

It remains to be seen if gas prices will have any effect.
