Does anyone know of some sort of ear protection for my DD4? She is petrified of the sound that fireworks make but likes to see the lights. We are planning on watching wishes from our hotel (Poly) but would like to see them at MK too.

Thanks for any advice!

We got ear plugs for the granddaughter. Found them in a sports shop (Bass Outdoor World). Even got the adult ones for us and a NASCAR race. All are still in the packaging since none of us really needed them. But they are easy enough to tote around just in case.

Well, I can't find the online store where we got ours but we did find some Junior Earmuffs for our 4 year old and she loves them! She has used them for several trips and they are her 'courage' whenever something gets a little loud or scary. They are now covered with cute Disney stickers and we try to remember them whenever we got to the parks.

I'll keep looking and post a link if I find where I got mine. They are designed for kids with sensory integration problems.

We used ear muffs for DS last year for the fireworks. We were there for 9 nights and by the end he said he didn't want to use them. This year we took them but he never once used them.

The ones we had were the kind that they use at shooting ranges and race tracks.

DS2 doesn't like loud fireworks, so we use the same kind of earplugs that we use when he swims or takes a bath. I believe they are called Mack's (or maybe just Mac's) or something along those lines. We get them in the ear care section at the grocery store. They have junior sized ones for little people. We started off using the regular ones, but breaking them in half for his tiny ears. Then one day, we discovered they had smaller sizes. And they come in different colors. He likes the bright neon orange! Also pretty cheap. The ones we get come with 4 sets (8 total) in a small plastic box. They are just blobs of a silicone type material that you form into a ball and press into the ear. We originally got them to protect his ears from infection when he had tubes inserted, but they work well for blocking the loud noises, too. And he can still hear us talking to him in a normal voice (though, he still really likes to ignore us at time). Hope that helps.

By the way...he loved the 4th of July fireworks here in DC. While all the other little kids around were crying, or holding their ears, he was laughing and naming all the colors he saw. It was great!

I got my DD7 these and they are GREAT!!! http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=852797 She hates loud noises like you find on many of the Disney rides and after spending one vacation with her fingers in her ears the whole week I said that there must be something better. These fit her well and she can put them in herself. We also bought sunglass straps and attached them so she can wear them around her neck if we know that we are going from one loud ride to the next.

Did anyone see the set Gwyneth Paltrow had on her baby at Live8? They looked like big, clunky 80's headphones. I am looking for some for my 2 year olds if anyone runs across any.
