Heading to Vero Beach in June - need recommendations around area

We're planing a 3 night stay at Vero Beach in June. We'll be at the Inn. I've never been in the area before & would like to get some ideas on what there is to do (other than the beach) that's close by.

When we're there with our DGC the resort has enough to keep us all busy. When it's DH and myself, we've gone to some of the natural areas nearby.

Any rec for restaurants? What natural areas are near and does the resort have info on them or do you have to find it yourself?

We've enjoyed Capt. Hirams as well as Squid Lips, but for our past 2 visits we've stayed on site because of the DGC and extended family being there, it was just easier to host everyone in the Beach Cottage for get togethers, but we did have inn rooms for many of the guests.

North on A1A there's a museum about the Treasure Coast that's very good, not a tourist trap.

I haven't done snorkeling here, but I intend to this June when it will be just DH and I.

There was a pirate dinner on site on Monday evening and all 8 adults and 3 DGC enjoyed the food and the character fun!

We like Orchid Island pizza, that's the place next door! We had the pizza, as well as some sandwiches and salads. It's very convenient and tasty. Different areas of the country have different tastes in Pizza. I grew up close to NYC, DH in Trenton NJ and we both think the pizza at Orchid Island is very good.
