Wondering about a couple of things........

WE've never been there at this time of year....usually late October or December.......

How bad are the mosquitos?

I see the air temps are high 80's low 90's, but the "realfeel" seems to be in the 100"s-115.............is it really this hot?

thanks for your help....just reassesing my packing, etc.........

LOL! You had me scratching my head about LKW!

The heat is bad, but when we were there the last week of August last year, the rain was more of an issue than the heat. We didn't notice many mosquitos though.

There's a post on one of the other boards about how bad the mosquitos have been thanks to all the standing water from Charlie. I'ld bring the bug spray. Better safe than sorry!

I believe that WDW sprays the grounds for mosquitos, as they don't seem to be much of a problem at the parks. However, if you were planning to hang out on the beach at WL at night, you would want to bring some repellant. Cutter now makes wet wipes---I really like them.

It's hot and humid right now. Pack shorts. It's hard to imagine when you're in Seattle--my sis lives there and has been telling me how cold it is!!!

Bon voyage.:earsboy:

It's not the heat....it's the humidity. ;) It stays very warm right through the end of September. No matter -- have a great time!! :)

Thanks again, Yes it really is quite cool here in seattle...so i expect it will be more shocking for us than normal!

The wipes sound like a good idea.......i will have to run to target today.......

again, thanks!

I've never known mosquitoes to be much of a problem at WDW except in isolated pockets -- eg. Fort Wilderness. The bugs that bug me there sometimes are the miniscule biting mites -- the red ones -- and no see ums. but that's not been often.

Another packing tip for these hot HUMID days, that you might not even think about......extra bras! :earseek:

You're getting out just ahead of more rain here in Seattle! Enjoy you trip and good luck with getting an early check in at OKW. If you plan to stay awake during the flight you can rent a dvd player from AA's internet site since they have no movies on their flights. We did this to help pass the time.

Have a great trip!

Just came back from OKW last Tuesday...hot..yes feel like when we were bouncing around EPCOT was 112, MGM 115...so yes it was very uncomfortable, but when in WDW it doesn't matter to me. :D

Now the bugs are trained, so no worries there. They will only bite if you are contemplating going to Universal instead of one of the Disney parks. :teeth: Seriously we were way down in building 54, sat out on veranda, and had no problems with bugs what so ever. I did however enjoy watching all the lizards running around. :hyper:

Thanks again for all of your help........even if it is 100 degrees it will be fun....we'll just have to poke in and out of AC alot........

We have rarely seen a bug at WDW either....i thought after Charley there might be more standing water and so perhaps more bugs.....maybe the lizards are brought in to lunch on them!

Thanks again!
