hi , we live in niagara we never fly out of toronto. You can get great flights out of buffalo on jet blue or southwest. We are leaving in a couple weeks again out of buffalo on jet blue. I will be booking our feb flight soon.

I second flying out of Buffalo. The price diffrence for our family of 4 to fly out of Toronto vs Buffalo was over $1000.00.

I live an hour from TO 45 min from the airport, I have to say the week are flying out, we ended up with a better deal than the same week out of Buffalo. (though there are airlines I would never fly no matter what the cost).

Things I was concerned about in choosing Buffalo even if there were cheaper flights.

1. The drive time and what if there is a winter storm that slows us down or causes us not to even be able to get to Buffalo.

2. The fight times for direct flights, most were early morning, which meant we would have to stay over night and we are a large family that would need more than one room.


3. I live 45 min from the airport and know I can get there in a major snowstorm (I have done it before)


I just watched the flights from TO and search all the time. When I booked in the summer, the price was there one day and then the next day it was gone, but I got the flights I wanted.

WE USUALLY DRIVE OVER THE NIGHT BEFORE IF EARLY FLIGHT, JET BLUE USUALLY HAS DIRECT FLIGHT AROUND 840 am TO ORLANDO. THERE ARE HOTELS RIGHT NEXT TO AIRPORT THAT OFFER FREE PARKING FOR UP TO 3 WEEKS, ALL YOU DO IS STAY THE 1 NIGHT. THEY SHUTTLE YOU OVER AND BACK. YOU CAN FIND DIRECT FLIGHTS FOR UNDER $90 DEPENDING ON WHEN YOU FLY. JET BLUE HAS NEW JETS. NO TRAFFIC TO BATTLE TO AND FROM AIRPORT. NO CUSTOMS TO GO THRU. YOU ALREADY DID THAT DRIVING OVER. SO FAR ONLY ONCE HAVE WE BOOKED A FLIGHT AND THERE WAS A BIG SNOWSTORM. THAT WAS LAST DEC I THINK. BIG STORM HIT REGION. OUR FLIGHT WAS MON MORNING OUT OF BUF. BOTH TORONTO AND BUFFALO WERE SHUT DOWN SUNDAY. BUT TORONTO HAD DELAYS ON MON. BUF WAS OPEN. ROADS WERE CLEAR AND NO MORNING RUSH TRAFFIC TO CONTEND WITH.
