Heading "home" to BCV/BWV next week-any requests?

Next week is my totally unplanned, solo trip to WDW. I'm staying at BCV and BWV (studios both places), and I'm also planning on an afternoon at AKL. So what can I find out for anyone? Any specific info or pictures anyone wants? Of course, I already plan to check out the latest flavors of gelato at BCV.

Did you make any requests when you made your reservation? We leave for BCV on Sunday and I was thinking of requesting a higher floor to watch fireworks. My 4 yr old doesn't like the noise of the live version, so behind closed doors might be nice.

BCV23, I'll save some of the gelato for you. I'm praying they have some pistachio.
kcdisneymom, I requested a high floor and a quiet area. That usually gets me a view of the woods/wetlands, which is my favorite view. However, for some reason, MS doesn't acknowledge a woods view, so I've found this is my best bet. I tried once requesting "overlooking trees", but MS wouldn't take that either. I've gotten some lovely views of Illuminations.

- What are the hours of the Screen Door General Store?
- What is the order of the boat stops at the Epcot area resorts?
- Do the BWV share a bus to MK, AK, & DTD with the other Epcot area resorts?

I already know the order of the boat stops. I've noticed that the boat never travels along the beach in front of the Yacht and Beach Club. It goes-Epcot, BW, Y&B, S&D, MGM. Coming back from MGM it goes-S&D, Y&B, BW, Epcot. Can you tell that I spent lots of time sitting on my BWV balcony? One day I just tracked the route out of curiosity. As far as the BWV bus, I know that the last couple times I've been at BWV or BCV, the bus wasn't shared at MK, but it was at all the other theme parks. Actually, there's at least one exception to that MK rule-one time when I was at MK about an hour after it closed, the bus I was on went to both BWV and BCV. I'll see how it is next week.

Haven't been home since May, starting to have withdrawal symtoms.
Never tried the Gelato, maybe I'll give it a try this trip.

IMHO,the best way to get Illumination views is to request as many rooms as you can that have them, just saying woods doesn't necessarily mean EPCOT view.
I gave up on requesting views a long time ago, and switched to requesting room numbers, it's been working for me. Some times you have to be persistant (not demanding) at the front ask, don't settle for what they have assigned to you if you know it's not what you want, I believe they have more flexibility than they let you know about, especially if you check in early.

I'd like to know about a few things:

-Can you really check in at the Villas now so you don't have to go to into the resort? If so, where is the check in desk?
-SAB pool hours 1st week of December?
-Will movies on the beach still be going on in December?

Yes, you can! There's a desk right at the entrance to the villas. They were able to check us in, to put our grandkids' passes on their room keys, and to print out our "Pirates and Princesses Party" tickets. Note that the desk is only staffed until 7:00 PM.

Please let us know if the sofa bed in the BWV studio is one of the new ones (there is conflicting info here about whether all have been replaced).

I'm also interested in where the outdoor smoking areas are - we are in a Boardwalk view 2BR next February and I'm hoping they didn't put a smoking area below our requested section (as far as possible from elevators, ergo towards the Jellyrolls end of the building).

Glad to see the villa area we requested is not directly in front of any smoking areas. Not as happy to see that there are two smoking areas directly next to the main pool - that will likely give some smokers the idea that the pool area in general is O.K. for smoking
