Heading cross-country tomorrow

It's a good thing I like to drive! Last summer I drove from Maine to Arizona twice. The first trip was to leave the car in AZ and fly back, and the second trip was to drive a different car. This will be the first time driving from Arizona TO Maine.

I really do enjoy driving, though. The open road, wind in my face, good music, and stopping to eat wherever and whenever I want-ha!ha!! I'm leaving tomorrow (hopefully by noon, but you know how that goes-argh!) with DD18, and I'm looking forward to spending the time with her. She just finished her first year at college, and even though I've seen her every week since the beginning of the school year, it's just not the same as having her living at home.

I'm looking forward to a summer in Maine with all the family members (others will be staggering in at different times ) and I especially can't wait to introduce Carter (cutie grandson in my sig) to the beach!! He'll be joining us, along with his mom and dad, about a week after younger daughter and I arrive.

So, before I head out tomorrow, I'd like to wish everyone here a healthy, safe and fun summer! Take the time to relax, enjoy the good weather, have fun with your family and don't sweat the small stuff!!!

Yay!- more road trippers! Flying is also fun, but there's just something special about road trips. We've driven from Maine to Florida more times than I can count. One trip we drove down the east coast, down Florida's west coast, across the bottom, down to Key West, then back up the east coast. We've driven the California coast, and from Tucson to Palm Beach, Florida. We've hit most of the central states and southern states at some time or another.

Thank you for the comment about Carter. He's a sweetie!! This will be Carter's first cross country trip by car. He just turned nine months, so he's starting young!

Many people just do not know what they are missing by flying everywhere. I understand that limited vacation time is a problem, though.

I confess, I do not fly. But, I have been to all but 5 states (KY, ND, NC, SC, AK), England, Wales, France, Mexico, Canada, and several places in the Caribbean, so the flying aversion hasn't exactly held me back. LOL!!
