I haven't been posting much over the last 2 years for reasons I'll get into in a little bit. That being said I booked our trip Disney yesterday for the first week in June. Staying in a family suite at Art of Animation. Its been 4 1/2 years since our last trip. I'm hoping this isn't my last.

Almost exactly 2 years ago I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Rectal Cancer and have been going though treatment for that ever since. Tomorrow will by my 40th chemo treatment to go along with 3 surgeries. Right now things are stable according to my last CT Scan 2 weeks ago. That means nothing new has developed and the tumors that are left have stopped growing. This is great news since the previous 2 CT Scan's showed that the tumors had started growing.

Originally I wanted to go at the end of September and bring the camper, but DW said she wanted to make it earlier while we knew my health was still good. So the first week of June it is. DW did say that if things are still good at the end of the summer that I can go down by myself for a few days.

I won't be going crazy with pictures this trip. There will be lots of family shots and candids of the kids. I've done trips in the past where I've gotten a lot of non people shots so I have plenty of those.

We're going to skip EPCOT this trip, even though I love shooting there at night. There just isn't enough for the kids in our opinion this time, so we'll do MK twice instead.

I'm very much looking forward to this trip. I'll probably only go with 3 lenses; 24-70mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8 and 50mm f/1.8. I'm debating about bringing the 10-20mm. I have the Nikon D600 now so the 10-20mm will switch the camera to a crop sensor size and give much less MP's. I did enjoy using the super wide angle on our last trip. We'll see. I'll also bring my 1.4x teleconverter.

I'm at 65 days till our trip and it can't come soon enough. :cool1::cool1:

I'm sad to hear about your health issues, but happy to hear things are getting slightly better. Having gone through some health issues this past year myself, I can empathize with your situation. Good luck and have fun in June!!

I've missed seeing you post here Handicap. Prayers to you and your family that you have beat this thing and are on the down side. I hope you have the most magical trip ever. pixiedust:

Glad your health situation is improving...hope you enjoy your trip!! :thumbsup2

Sorry to read about your health issues. I hope things continue to hold and improve.

Have a great trip!

Wishes here for your continued improvement. Our family understands the excitement - we went to WDW just after DH's surgery for prostate cancer. It was aggressive and had spread to a few lymph nodes but more trips have been enjoyed in the past 1 1/2 years since that time as well as clean tests. :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear you've been sick but nice to know you are getting better, have faith and prays for you and your family. Have a great trip too.

I hope you have the best vacation ever! You have been through so much and want you to know that from this little corner (middle) of the world you have someone praying and hoping for the best for you! Take care and bring us back some great pictures and memories.

Mike

I'm sorry to read that, Kyle. :guilty: I'm glad you're getting this trip in, I know it will be unbelievably meaningful for you and your family. (Said as a 10.5 year breast cancer survivor.) Praying for continued improvements.

Have a great trip and I will keep you in my thoughts.
