Heading back and CRT dissapointing....

Is the french toast still the same recipe as on the old menu? That was my favorite part! Of course now you wouldn't be able to get seconds....

I believe I read on ALLEARS that you Still can get the seconds, it's all you can eat..you just have to ask. I believe the majority of the people don't ask for it so they are obviously not going to push the all you can eat factor..saves them money. But I am 99% sure I read on allears that it is still all you can eat...:thumbsup2 I also remember reading you can order scrambled eggs or different choices if you aren't thrilled with their normal 3 offerings. I too have ressies for September breakfast but like the others said it is about the castle and the princesses so I won't be expecting too much from the food.

Wow. That is quite the ripoff for $47 per adult! Last year we decided to do lunch, which is "only" $50 per adult. I got the Major Domo pie and DH and the girls got the Foccacia sandwich.

I would never pay that price for breakfast, either with cash or DP. The price for breakfast is outrageous! I don't find hardly any restaurants are worth 2 credits though.

At this point, we don't do DP anymore, as we love TIW card, and so for 2 adults, 1 child and a 1 toddler (they bring him food for free), with TIW discount, it only cost us $120.00 tax/tip included for dinner and we ate here last week. This is very reasonable - paying 2 credits for breakfast though is definitely not worth it to us, nor would be pay that amount for breakfast, even with a cash discount.

That being said, we just ate dinner there last week during Wishes, and it was spectacular! The best service of our trip! The food was great, the atmosphere wonderful, we got Cinderella to ourselves a bit downstairs as we were only ones waiting for a table. We all loved seeing the princesses for dinner.

We had a great time at dinner, which I know isn't breakfast, but just wanted to say that from our last experience for my birthday a few years ago, this was much improved.

We did lunch using 2TS credits each when we were on free dining. It wasn't worth the cost -- and it was free, except for the tip!!!

We used to love, love, love lunch in the castle. It was a totally relaxed and pleasant meal. The appetizer choices were good, prime rib was an entree option, there were several dessert choices and one could get rolls and butter with the meal.

Not any more. On our last visit, the appetizer was pathetic -- a few carrot sticks and couple of pieces of cheese for a table of four. The food was only fair, the princesses were very rushed, we were absolutely rushed.

They told my elderly parents to "Hurry up and sit down!" I replied, "My parents are elderly and handicapped and they will take just as long as they need. Leave us alone."

If Snow White spent 30 seconds with my 3-year-old niece, I'd be surprised. It was a "run the princesses around the room" marathon.

As with most everything about Disney, they've figured out they've got a lot of dupes who will pay to sit in the castle (as TDCNala points out -- people would pay the price if Disney served concrete slabs or nothing at all), so why not exploit it to the hilt. And, that's what they are doing.

Ahhhh for the old days.

We avoid the castle now. Just not worth it. We'd much rather eat at Peco Bill's.

We used to do CRT for breakfast every trip. However, the last 2 times we ate breakfast there we were very dissapointed in the food. On our 2008 & 2009 trips we only did the princess breakfast at Akershus which we ALL really enjoy. Food is way better and lots of princesses-pretty much everyone except Cinderella.

AS for Mk area character breakfasts-we do Crystal Palace and 'Ohana. Both very good food.

That's interesting regarding Akershus as we always have Cinderella for lunch and dinner. I've eaten here a ton of times (sometimes 2x in each trip, as it's my daughter's fav), and so for the past 3 years at least, we've seen Cinderella at each meal we've eaten at.

I wouldn't call anyone who signs up for CRT meals dupes - they just should realize that they are not paying those high prices for the quality of the food, but for the popularity of the atmosphere and the princesses. If that's good enough for some, then more power to ya. If they have food that you like, then you're way ahead on the deal. Disney is aware that the major draw is the castle itself, and the princesses, and not the food. Personally I don't go to the castle anymore, as the food is always going to be more interesting to me than the princesses.

I'm not sure why they put this menu up with a January 2010 date because it is not correct. We just got back home and actually enjoyed our CRT breakfast very much. It did begin with a nice fruit bowl and some yummy pastries. We were then given three choices (one more than last time we were there) for breakfast, a veggie omlet with breakfast potatoes, bacon and sausage, cream cheese stuffed french toast with bacon, or the healthy choice of yogart, fruit and granola.

Hubby had the omlet and the sausge was awesome. I had the french toast and it was yummy and filling. The princesses were great and we got a sword, wand and wishing stars just like the little kids.

I was wondering since it doesn't seem to totally be family style (like O'hana) is it still considered AYCE? Can you order more of what they bring out pre-plated?

CRT was ruined years ago when the characters took over. We haven't been back since. Now I hear even dinner has characters. That's too bad, this used to be such a dignified setting for a meal.

can't beat the setting;)

has anybody done dinner lately? Prime rib used to be decent.:confused3

Back in the early 2000s, the "French Toast" was a fabulous dish - now it's "OK", at best. It's still sorta kinda maybe slightly similar to the old one, but definitely not the same. (This is coming from a guy who used to eat at CRT on every trip strictly for the food - now it's more like once every 3-4 years for nostalgia.)

I can remember back in 'the good ol' days' when during lunch they would make a fabulous Caesar salad fresh in an enormous bowl right at your table side.

And there was a chef in the dining area slicing the prime rib to order. They even offered seconds ! Can you imagine that today ?

The dining at CRT has gone so far downhill we can't even bring ourselves to eat there again.

It spoils too many happy memories of when things were much different. :guilty:

We had breakfast at CRT last month and had a wonderful breakfast! We got the coveted table right next to the windows and could see the carousel and the CMs getting ready for the park to open. Our food was still really good. I missed not having eggs, but I enjoyed my french toast, the pastries at the beginning, the fresh fruit, and even the coffee ( I actually liked the coffee better here than the Kona coffee press pot from the Poly!). Some princesses spent a few minutes at our table and a few even made their way around a second time! We had an 8:05 ressie, and we were downstairs ready to hit the MK by 8:55. It was nice to have that head start and we would definitely dine there again in the future :) It was one of our favorite mornings! :thumbsup2

$47!??!! :scared1: :faint:

I agree. Is it now $47 for breakfast? Because looking the current price up on different sites and in my mom's guidebook, it's been anywhere from $32 to $47 and that's a big difference when I'm making decisions.

This exactly, except I never made it to the castle when the food was good.
