I get really bad sinus headaches when it rains, which it's supposed to do today. Needless to say, I dying here! Anyone know some headache remedies that don't require popping pills all day?

This is what my doctor told me to do when I feel a migraine coming on. He said to push on the "webbing" between the thumb and the pointer finger. If you feel around in that are you can feel cartilige (?) and that's what you press. Hope it helps for you.

have you ever tried saline spray to get everything cleared up? my dm ent dr. suggested this and it really does help.

Eat a banana + drink a coke. A co-worker told me this years ago and it often helps, though not always.

When that fails I resort to generic "sudephedrine"
sudafed + guaphinessin (SP) the "expectorant" drains your sinuses.

We get "wicked weather headaches" here being so close to the coast when the low pressure systems bear down on us.

Thanks for the replies. I tried the pinching-the-web thing and it WORKS!! Bananas and Coke sound interesting, but I'm at work and don't have access to a banana. I'll have to try it next time though.

Best thing that works for me is Excedrin Migraine. Take 2 and it should nip it.

<font color=navy>What works best for me, and if I catch the headache in time is to take two sinus pain pills (just about any do the trick, though Tylenol is really helpful), then I wait about an hour & take Extra Strength Excedrin. That helps a lot.

Another thing you can do is just work your check from the nose out towards the sides of your face to help drain the sinuses there - and do the same from the middle of your brow to the outsides of your face - a massage that will help break up the pressure.

Good luck - those are so painful.

Yea, I am glad that worked for you. It works to hold off some of my migraines until the prescription kicks in and this way hopefully you aren't popping pills all day long. :D

I have a little pocket sized massager I picked up for $30. it has nubs on it and it's my miracle cure for when my migraines act up, or my carpal tunnel is hurting, or I need a head massage :)

If it's a sinus headache, sometimes if I use one of those Breathe Right strips it goes away...try the ones with vicks (of course, you really have to be at home for this one because you don't want to be seen in public with this thing on)
