Head To MK Upon Arrival?

We're leaving on Thursday for our third trip on this year's AP and I still feel like such a newbie sometimes . We've never headed to MK or any park right when we arrive. We're staying @ the Poly and I thought it would be nice to drop our bags and head to MK for a couple of hours because we won't get back there until Saturday (we're doing Epcot on Friday). My dilemma is my 4 y.o. will want to head straight to Buzz. Am I setting myself up for disaster (or a ridiculous wait) by doing this? I know this is a "crystal ball" question, but I appreciate any feedback I can get. Let me go finish packing....Maggie

That sounds like a good plan to me. Even if your child wants to to Buzz, since you have a pass, go to Buzz and then walk around a bit. You can always go back..right?

Have a great trip! :teeth:

I would definately "dive" right into the MAGIC.....If Buzz is crowded, just grab a FP and walk around. Soak up the atmosphere!

We did that last year, and we plan on doing it again this year. What's bad for us is we arrive on Saturday, and last year the park was packed! But, we still had a good time. We did some shopping, ate dinner, and rode some rides that didn't have terrible lines. In fact, since we knew we would be back on another day, we didn't watch Spectro and Wishes. We rode rides, since the lines were much shorter during those two events. It was a very nice evening, and a great way to kick off our trip by jumping right into the Disney Magic!

I'm worried FP's might be gone by the time we get there. We may not get to MK until 5 or 6 at the earliest! Sorry this seems like such a dumb question. Even with all our trips, we're park "day" people and usually just head to parks @ night for shows and fireworks. Maggie

Most FP's were gone by the time we got there last year (around 5:00), but that was a Saturday night, which is always really busy. But, like I said, if you can wait for another day to watch Spectro and/or Wishes, you can ride while those are going on, and the lines are much shorter. My advice: don't stress, do what you can, and enjoy just being there! ::MickeyMo

I'm not stressing just trying to anticipate. We'll just go for it. Thank you all, now gotta go finish packing........Maggie

I agree with the other posters dive right in!! :Pinkbounc Hope you have a great trip :flower:

Here's another vote for diving right in. It's such an easy and short trip from the Poly. to Mk and you have the APs -- GO FOR IT!! Maybe pixie dust will sprinkle down and Buzz FPs will still be available or lines won't be too long.

We always have to hit MK the day we arrive...it doesn't feel like WDW to us if we don't!!!! There's always SOMETHING to do while waiting for a ride's FP to come up!!! Even if you just go and enjoy the atmosphere it's well worth it even for just a couple of hours!!

This is our first trip and I am so excited. We are arriving on a Sunday around noon and heading straight for the mk. THere is no way that I can wait to go another day. HOw busy is mk on sundays?
thanks Diane
