If you have an HE top loader please tell me if you recommend your model, how long you have had it and what feature do you love that I should look for when shopping for one?
For example, we have allergies and I am curious about the steam wash or allergen setting on these HE models

We have a fridgaire. A few things I dont like about it. mold in the ring where the door meets up with the drum.if you slam the door you end up buying a new part for it that costs $80 or the machine wont spin ( thanks to DD15) this is our second go around. now the dispencer wont dispense softner either. Pain in the butt. it also shuts off mid cycle because of the door thing being screwed up so you have to start the entire thing all over.
could be just because ours is broken :confused3. wishing it had a setting for a small load though. mine has a delicate cycle and I use that for the Blankets my mother knitted for the kids and it works fine. figures things break when the warrentee ends.

I have had the Whirlpool Cabrio for close to 3 years. I don't have a mold problem because I leave the lid open after using the washer. I noticed that my water bill went down as you are using very little water. The clothes seem to be more wrinkled and the wrinkles don't seem to come out in the dryer. I don't have the steam option on my machine. You can really put a lot in this washer.

We have the GE profile top loader HE machine. I've had it for 6 years and love it. I love the large capacity and the fact it handles a big load of my husbands dirty work jeans with no issues. I have no complaints.

Maytag Centinual I HATE IT!!! I've had it about 6 months...DH picked it out because of it's very good energy ratings.

I hate that the lid locks automatically when you start the washer. Oh an no water can go in till lid is shut an locked. I like to start washer add detergent then when tub is about 1/4 full add clothes....learned this after detergent ( POWDERED TIDE) ate holes in our brand new jeans a whole load of them! So far no holes in clothes but I'm also using liquid now an no tide.
I also HATE that a regular wash cycle takes at least an hour maybe an hour an 15 mins most of the time the washer seems to be sitting there doing nothing yet the power is going to it an I just do not see how it could be saving anything.

We have a Fisher-Paykel, love it unconditionally! Ours is 8 years old, so it doesn't have any fancy features. We have severe seasonal & other airborne allergies. We use all 'free' laundry products.

Had a LG front loader at our old house. Hated it after a couple years -- it smelled!! and I kept the door open and cleaned it every couple washes. So in this house I bought the TOP loading HE Maytag Bravos. I really like it a lot -- you can put a lot more in it and it does clean well. It does tangle/wrinkle clothes in the washer, but mine tend to come out in the dryer. I've had it 2 years now and no problems.

We have an LG Wave Force and love, love, love it. The capacity is HUGE! There are ton of settings. The machine senses the load and adds the exact amount of water needed. Our water bill has gone down $5 a month. There is a cup for the detergent. The water is added to the machine through the detergent cup while the clothes are lightly spinning so the detergent is spread equally through the machine. The lid does lock automatically but there is a feature that allows you to stop the machine and add clothes. I like how clean our clothes get, no complaints!

We have this one too, love it!!:thumbsup2

Heard too many complaints from HE top loader so have a Samsung front loader and love it - no wrinkles, no odor, no smells, has a steam cycle and also overnight wash/dry cycle for light load. Crack lid on door to air out, and love it. Can wash comforters and spins so dry takes very little drying time - doesn't twist clothes so no wear & tear on them.

We got rid of ours front loader. Too much vibration. Really loud. Went back to a top loader by Sears Elite. HE. Love it!!!

This is the one I am looking at

We just purchased a HE Maytag Bravos XL...I love it! There is space on either side when the top is closed that lets air in, so we don't have that nasty moldy smell that my last washer kept having. I'm very happy with how well it cleans our clothes. I highly recommend it. :thumbsup2

I have a Kenmore Elite frontloader. If the washer is not properly balanced it will vibrate excessively and be noisy. Ours is very quiet. We hardly know it is running. I bought it to replace a broken Kenmore HE toploader.

Our washroom is on the second floor of a two story colonial. We could really hear it from the first floor, family room. Our front loader was a Fridgidaire, and in my opinion, Fridgidaire is a piece of crap. Also had the rubbber mold smell too. I am sure there are some that are very nice, I just wasn't giving it another try. I am totally sold on anything Sears Elite!!:thumbsup2

Our Samsung Front Loader is very quiet, but you do have to follow the instructions and have it well balanced on floor - also upstairs may be harder to keep from vibrating?? :confused3 Also, no odor, or mold problems, but do keep the door cracked open to circulate and air dry. No cleaner has been run through either - 11 years experience with them. it, especially the steam, sanitize, and night wash & dry!

That's what I've had for a couple months and love it! It was like Christmas when we brought that thing in. We all sat around and watched it through the glass lid. It's awesome. It has the allergy settings as well as a quick load for about 38 minutes, and many other load settings. SIL said she may have to get one too because it plays music when it's done and when you turn it on.
