 Sat down with DH last night to discuss the posibility of a trip to California and DL next spring. I was all prepared with financial ideas and budget strategies (he's a banker and is always thinking from the money aspect.). But I didn't even have to break them out. He just told me that we could go and to tell him when and how much it was going to cost! Now on to some planning!!!!

If only all husbands were that easy!:rotfl:

Yay for you!! Super exciting news!!!

He hates crowds, waiting and spendy money! :rotfl: But he will do anything to make sure our kids experience awesome things like Disney! I love that man!!

You are a lucky lady! My DH hates crowds, waiting & spending money too. Unfortunately he also hates Disney.:sad1:

The only way I get my DH to Disney is that we have family in SoCal. Thank goodness!!

DBF is the same! I have a couple of girlfriends who are Disney fans that I can go with though! I feel your pain!!

He has never been to Disney! So we will see if he hates it too- which is a very real possibility!

You might have a very real chance of getting DH to love it, especially if he's never been! Clean slate & all....;)

If I can suggest anything to you, I would say to take it slow. DH had been once in his early teens with his family, who ALL hate Disney. I think they spent more time parked in the parking lot in their motorhome then actually inside the park. So his only memory came from this horrible experience.

Unfortunately, our first trip together as a family was in the middle of August!:scared1: Heat, crowds, cranky 3 year old...he was NOT happy. Trust me when I say that I never would have planned to go at this time of year, especially for our 1st family trip. But we had a dying relative to visit, so this is just the way it ended up. Because of the crowds, I tried to do "commando style" touring. We were also staying off site, closer to our family member, so going back to the hotel mid-day wasn't really an option. Let's just say, after that trip...DH never wanted to go back.:headache:

But I'm nothing if not persistant and I promised him things would be different next time. A different time of the year, staying within walking distance & taking it slower can really do a world of difference. While DH still doesn't love Disney, I think I can say that he no longer *forbids* it.;)

Since you are going next year, I have a quick question...... does anyone know when we can start making 2013 reservations at the Disneyland Resort hotel?
I'm ready to start planning too!

Nice!!! Have fun planning! It's half of the fun!!!!

I agree. Planning a vacation is like living it vicariously before actually living it. Then seeing your plan work out is soooooo satisfying. :cool1:

There was a recent thread on this, and it sounds like sometime in August. I'm anxious to start planning too!:)
