DH & I can't believe he picked Estella.

But I have a theory~he's not ready for a real relationship. His family brought that out into the open. He knows Kelly Jo is 100% ready. So he ended it now as she would have been more devastated if he gave her the promise ring then dumped her later.

Estella was questioning everything all the time. She is in LA, he's in MI. It will never work. So he picked the one that will end on its own. They can have fun, he'll be in LA for the media blitz etc then it can end. Typical guy move. (sorry fella's, just my opinion ;))

What do you think?

sidenote-My mom's Aunt had a house on Long Lake, MI that they went to every summer. I was there at age 1. My connection to The Bachelor. LOL!!!

I tend to agree with you. I knew he was going to pick Estella after his mother made the comment that Kelly Jo didn't make an effort to get to know them. I've always liked Kelly Jo, but last night she came off as kind of immature to me for some reason. I think the age difference had something to do with him picking Estella. Kelly Jo seemed more mad at "losing" last night than really heartbroken.

Did anyone notice that 90% of the kissing from both girls was initiated by the girl and not Bob? Also, Bob never once told Estella that he loved her. I think he cares for her, but he's not really in love with her. He is definitely not ready for a permanent commitment. Unfortuntately, I don't think this relationship will last.

I missed most of the show last night. DH didn't want to watch it and I didn't have a tape for the VCR. I caught the tail end when he was with Estella but missed him dismissing Kelly Jo. Can someone fill me in and what he said to Kelly Jo and how it went? Thanks!

I thought Estella was the right choice.

Kelly Jo did show her lack of maturity last night when she put her arms behind her like a TWO year old when she didn't get what she wanted.

I could almost hear her stomping.

Beth, she was so angry, unlike Mary, who was destroyed. She was VERY self assured the whole show and I think his rejection of her was just not expected at all.

On the other hand, I think Estella EXPECTED to be let go and her reaction actually made me cry. Who knows what the future will bring but I think Bob wanted a peer and I think he got one in Estella.

:crazy2: This is what I looked like last night while watching the Bachelor Finale! I just don't see Bob and Estella as a couple. He was a much better fit with Kelly Jo, IMHO. I don't think they will be getting married and living happily ever after. Then again, I was sure that Trista would pick Charlie so what do I know  ?

Can someone fill me in and what he said to Kelly Jo and how it went? Thanks!
He basically told her that she deserved someone who loved her with everything they had and he is not the one. She did not take it very well. She looked flabbergasted as she was sure he was going to be proposing to her.

:D Robinrs,
I totally agree that Kelly Jo came off very immature on last night's show but I do chalk some of that up to the editing. They let us know who Bob was going to pick pretty much from the beginning of the episode.

Did anyone watch The View when the were in Bob's hometown a couple of weeks ago? Bob made a surprise appearance and when they asked who the audience thought he should pick, Kelly Jo got the overwhelming amount of applause. Bob looked very surprised that so few picked Estella -- now I know why
:D .

I actually had a different take on Kelly Jo's reaction. She was mad and I don't blame her. The night before he had been totally leading her on to believe that she would be the one. I mean, how many people spend the night before they are supposed to propose making out with another girl? I didn't feel that she threw a fit. I wouldn't want to be all huggy and smoochy with a guy who had led me on for 6 weeks and then dropped me flat either. She had already given him too much of herself and he really didn't deserve for her to give him more. I thought she did a good job of maintaining her dignity.

As for him picking Estella, I was not surprised at all. I liked KJ better, but I didn't like Bob, so she came out on the good end of this one. I'm almost certain this one won't last. What I really don't understand is why they would pick such a commitment-phobe to be the Bachelor in the first place. It will be interesting to watch tonight's show.

You're right-She was furious!!! She actually said "This sucks" which actually made me laugh. Oh well. I don't think it will last. The two that have lasted really made a committment to make it last right from the begininng.

Does anyone else think Estella has the most wrinkly forehead I've ever seen? It almost looks part elephant-and she's only 28. I just can't believe how wrinkled it is.

She's glamourous, but I don't think she's that beautiful. I actually liked Meredith's natural beauty better. Also, I could tell last night that Bob's mother (helmet head) did not like Kelly Jo at all. Women have a harder time hiding that sort of thing and you could tell she was not impressed.

I have NEVER watched this show (nor the previous ones), but caught the tail end last night due to switching the channels.

I have to say that I can't believe the VOICES of these contestants, particularly Estella!

Are they on HELIUM or what? I don't think anyone in their right mind could listen to that woman's voice 24/7. Kelly Jo's wasn't much better, but at least not as nasal and baby-ish as Estella's!

What happened to mature voices???

Could not AGREE more! If I was deeply in love with a man, and I 100% thought that he felt the same way, and we had just spent the evening together less than 48 hours ago laughing and kissing, you can bet your last dollar I'd be P.O.'d too! Personally, I think her reaction was as REAL as it could have been! I think the reason why Mary was so upset is because she hears her clock ticking REALLY LOUD and this was just one more set back for her.

I really do not believe that Bob and Estella are going to last. She just seems too mature for him. And I think Bob's personality needs someone that can match his energy and enthusiasm. I think he made the wrong choice, and it's gonna come back and bite him you know where!::yes::

I've liked Kelly Jo from the beginning and was just waiting for her to hit him or just stomp away. She was very controlled to be heartbroken.

As far as him leading them on, they should never have agreed to be on The Bachelor if they didn't want to take a chance for their hearts to be broken. I don't think that he led anyone on. As someone said before, they were mostly initiating the kissing, not the other way around. I'm sure he had guidelines that he had to go by as far as telling them how he felt about them. It would not "do" for him to let Estella know that he preferred her over any of the others.

Did you see his face while he was watching the last videos the girls made for him? He had the strangest look in his eyes as he was viewing Kelly Jo's and the then the look changed as he saw Estella's. Plus the left side of his cheek was twitching some like he was trying not to show emotion while watching hers.

Even though I like Kelly Jo I wasn't surprised to see that he picked Estella. I believe that KJ was more needy, would have been more dependent on Bob and was just too much like him. Also, his mother liked Estella better. Besides being independent (I think that Bob likes that) and being her own woman, she is an awful like Trista, whom he really liked. Estella's laugh, her way of talking, etc. reminds me so much of Trista. I also think that his and Estella's families might mix better. I believe that there might be some holiday problems between KJ's family and his. Just a feeling.......

I agree with others that picking Estella is the easy way out but you never know, it might work. Whoever thought that Trista would be getting married.

Well I missed the grand finale due to my inability to use a VCR, but a few comments.

KJ needs to eliminate the word "amazing" from her vocabulary. She has always seemed a tad immature to me, but I liked her anyway.

Estella must be making a pretty good living to afford that place in Beverly Hills. With the exception of her voice, she appears to be a very confident and successful young woman.

Both are too good for Bob, imo. I'm quite sure they will both find what they are looking for, but I don't think Bob is it.

Bob's mom did comment that KJ didn't try to get to know her but MOM was the one who asked to take a walk with Estella. She sent KJ off with Dad. I too thought KJ came off immature with Bob's family. Never really saw that before.

Estella's voice is VERY annoying, like Trista, she can change it. :earseek:

I thought KJ handled her dis very well. After he told her you aren't it, you could see she just wanted to leave. Poor thing had to stand there while he kept babbling on and all. They should just let the girl bolt once the guy says, hey it's not you.

The "couple" starts their media blitz tomorrow. GMA Friday, The View Monday. Can't wait to see tonights episode!

Up until last night I did not think much of Estella. So I was voting for KJ (but I still thought Meredith was the best pick). But last night when Bob's family was so taken with Estella I started to think maybe the creative editing did not show her true personality well. And then when she asked Bob about not wanting to commit, just as his family had, I wondered if she must know him better than KJ. I also noticed that Bob seemed much more relaxed with Estella than with KJ during the visits with his family. I also thought the way they kissed each other looked more like a couple in love than when Bob kissed KJ. By the end I thought Estella was the right choice and that she was more emotional ready than KJ. JMHO, but my DH agreed.
I too thought KJ acted more angry than sad and that makes me wonder also. I am interested to see what tonight's show will reveal.

I too thought KJ acted more angry than sad

Wouldn't it be normal for her to feel anger first??? I think I'd be mad at the guy for not picking me. The sadness would come later........jmho

Alas, another Bachelor is over. How long can this stupid show last? And why do I keep watching this train-wreck? LOL!!!

I've really enjoyed reading peoples' comments! I think the main thing I got out of last night's episode was the fact that Bob IS NOT READY to get back into a serious relationship. He has so much baggage from his marriage that he needs to work through first. I really don't think it could have worked with Kelly Jo OR Estella or any other woman for that matter. He's simply not ready. I think that of the two women, Estella may be better suited, but I still highly doubt it will work out in the long run (unless Estella is willing to hang in there while Bob works through some serious issues).

I thought it was good that Bob didn't propose, but I also couldn't believe he didn't say the L word! I guess he's just not feeling it yet and it just seems so unfair to Estella who wanted to shout it from the rooftops. I'll be anxious to watch tonight's show to see how they're doing now. I'd love for a happy ending here, but I'm certainly not placing any bets!

I thought Kelly Jo handled it well. As far as inmaturity - she is still very young - give her a break!

I don't see really Estella and Bob as a match, but I knew he would pick her. - Now to be catty! I agree that the wrinkles are disturbing on such a young women. Maybe if she gained a couple of pounds she would look better. (Oh, come on, if she was too heavy someone would've mentioned it!)

I was a little surprised that he picked Estella, but really this was the first "Bachelor" installment (yes, I've watched them all! ) during which I didn't have a "favorite." I just didn't get the sense that Bob really cared for ANY of the women that much. I'm not sure if the problem was his fear of truly opening up to someone or if the right woman really just wasn't there on the show. Maybe he would have been more into it if he had really felt like he'd found a soulmate.

Estella wisely picked up on Bob's fear of commitment; hopefully for her own sake this will keep her from getting her hopes up too high about the relationship till she can see where (if anywhere) it's going.

I know that so much of these shows is in the creative editing. But they're a fun mindless diversion, so I watch them when I can!

Yes, she was looking a bit skeletal last night--she did say she hadn't had any appetite for a while!

Now, I have to dis Bob again because I really don't like him-But, why would you go on a show like the Bachelor if you really did not want a committed relationship with anyone? I think that is being evasive and sneaky with not only all the women on the show, but also the producers, etc. He's obviously only do it for attention and publicity and money. That is why I think Andrew was such a good bachelor-He didn't need money or publicity. Or maybe I'm just naive. Again, I think Estella needs some serious Botox. I'm 36 and my forehead doesn't look that bad!
