He leaves tomorrow!

I'm so sorry :( . Deployments are just so hard on everyone.

Being 5 months into a deployment - I know what you are going through, and for me this was the toughest time.

And thank you and your dh, my dh is scheduled to leave Iraq in Feb, so your dh is going so my dh can come home.
For that I thank you from the bottom of my heart

Saw some of the deployment ceramony on the news and was wondering if I was seeing you and your hubby. I was thinking of you. My DH is at Bragg right now (will post my New York story when I can ....) and called yesturday to say 18 more days stateside than their off. 365 days "boots in country" so while he's been gone almost 90 days already, the clock isn't even ticking yet. Oh and more good news, the general at their departure "do" said he was going to be honest and tell us to be prepared for extensions. Oh yeah!! NOT!!!!! Good luck to you, I'm just down the road if you want some company.

My DH left us 3 weeks ago and will be flying to Iraq next week. I am flying up alone to see him tomorrow. Will be bittersweet. My prayers are with you, I KNOW how hard this is. :(

:grouphug:

I pray he stays safe, Robin. Hang in there. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. If you need anything, you know I'm here.

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Pass on my heartfelt thanks to your wonderful husband.

Take care of that precious baby you are carrying. Before you know it your husband will be home for the birth!

Have a bite of Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough for me!;)

I just got home from visiting my DH at Ft. Drum this week. He'll be there another few weeks before shipping out. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see him one more time before he leaves the country.

I know how hard it's been for me and my kids, and can't imagine going through it pregnant too. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Hang in there, we'll all get through this together! :)

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I'm all cried out...well, maybe not as I still feel I have tears in my eyes. I have done so well the last 5 weeks or so that we have known, but yesterday I must have cried at least 7-10 different times. My older son, who is 6, has ALWAYS been my sympathetic little boy, kept putting his hands on my face and looking in my eyes every so often to see if I was crying, giving me big hugs, etc. That made me cry even more! We drove him to the airport hotel last night where all the guys had to stay and were in lock-down after 9:30. We said good-bye around 8:20 and one of the other Sgt.'s wife asked me if I was okay (We had chatted in the elevator- she had two teenage sons) and that we should exchange phone numbers. I nodded and we agreed to do that on family day as I was just too upset to whip out a pen right then. Then DH says to her (cause she said something about how hard it is with little ones), "Yeah, and she's about 2 month along with our 3rd baby" and her face just fell and the look of sympathy just sent me over the top! I just had to go...so I sat in the car for a minute or two and composed myself, as the last thing DH said to me was, "Be strong for the boys" so that is what I did.

I know this is the right thing for him to be doing, but it's still just so hard. My mom and I talked for awhile last night and she is seriosuly thinking of resigning her very stressful job (which she was going to do next summer) and go ahead and retire now and move part time up here. My parents already bought a home up here and were planning on moving next summer anyway. My mom wants to just come up here and then fly back and forth to California to help my dad get the house ready to sell. Plus my mom by career is a labor and delivery nurse manager, so it's like having my own private advice line with my pregnancy. :p

Thanks everyone for your kind words and I'm so surprised at how many of us military wives are here---I'm glad we have each other to lean on.
