Oh my gosh . . . CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
Did your legs turn into Jell-O?? That's what happened to me when Brian proposed at the castle . . .
There are not a whole lot of things you can do right now, except enjoy your engagement and scope out possible ceremony locations. Depending on they type of wedding you want and your location, you won't be able to book it until 12 months to 8 months in advance of your date. But, once you get back home, you can make an initial call to Disney Fairy Tale Weddings to let them know what you have in mind and get some general information.
And the FIRST thing you should do when you get home is buy the Passporter Guidebook for Disney Weddings and Honeymoons. It's a must-read!
You can do ALMOST all of planning at home, but you may want to go ahead and plan on taking a trip about 5 or 6 months in advance to meet with your wedding planner, have a hair and makeup trial and take engagement photos with your photographer. Having met all of our vendors already, we feel sooo much better about what things will be like in December.
The things that HAD to be done while we were at Walt Disney World were:
- Buy bride and groom mouse ears. They sell certain ones online but, for now, you can only buy the headband bride and top hat groom style at Walt Disney World.
- Pick up a bunch of park maps to send our guests.
- Pick up a celebration buttons to send to our guests.
Happy planning, and enjoy the rest of your trip . . . we're so excited for you!
