He agreed to one Signature meal...now which one?

California Grill. I think it's the most consistent signature in terms of food, and it has a fireworks view.

I've heard so many great things about Cali Grille, but sadly there are no reservations for our night..which is a bit of a predicament!

I wouldn't be too upset about no ressie's for CG. IMO, the food has gone way downhill the last few years. The only thing that's really consistently good anymore is the sushi...and it doesn't sound like your DH would be a fan. My top three recommendations would be Flying Fish, Citricos or Bluezoo. You can't go wrong with any of those three.

Citrico's is our favorite. It's very lovely and if you get a seat by the windows in front of the lake...:lovestruc

The food is super yummy, too.

The thing is, one could make an argument that any of the signatures have gone downhill. It really depends on your own experiences there. For me, Flying Fish and Yachtsman were never really uphill, Jiko and Artist Point are inconsistent, and Citricos and Narcoossee's have gone downhill.

If California Grill is out of the question, I would recommend Artist Point. I like the tranquil wilderness setting, and for me it has some of the best food even though it has off nights. Plus, you could take the boat after to MK and watch the fireworks.

I was kind of leaning towards Citricos. I've been intrigued by the menu. Also Narcooses is one that I was very interested in...NO ressies for Cali Grille or Le Cellier are open.

We are staying AT the Boardwalk, so Flying Fish is def an option...

I just don't want to strike out on this one. I should also have used the word "show". I think he means more like fireworks.

Citricos is my favorite. :lovestruc
It has a good menu variety for a fish lover and a meat lover - the entrees are pretty split down the middle between fish and meat since it's Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.

Find out when Wishes is for the night you want your ADR and schedule your meal about 2 hours before. Then you can have a nice relaxing meal and afterward walk down to the GF dock and watch Wishes. They pipe in the music. :wizard:

Flying Fish is awfully convenient to your room though!

Wishes begins at 10pm and I just booked an 8:05 ressie for Citricos. I hope that works. How will I let them know we're 'honeymooners'?

My DH and I are taking a trip in April with my family. We are going to break away for one night to have a romantic dinner. We are still newlyweds. The question is, which Signature to choose? He LOVES steak, I don't eat it. I LOVE fish, he doesn't eat it. He mentioned it being 'nice', and he said it would be nice to see fireworks or a 'show'. Help! :confused3

Signature meal?

You need to do California Grill. They have different foods (to please everyones taste), and you can time it to see the fireworks (they even play the music and lower the lights).

You'll have a fantastic time.

Here are my thoughts:

Do Narcoossee's. The California Grill is VERY noisy and as of January at least, they didn't even dim the lights for Wishes. You have to go out on a catwalk to watch. If you have any fear of heights at all, it can be intimidating.

At Narcoossee's it is quieter and they turn they lights way down for the fireworks. Your view is lower down, but very pretty through the windows. You may have to go outside and view from the waterside deck depending upon how many people are there. Another advantage is that you can take the boat from the Magic Kingdom. It lands right at the restaurant and it is a romantic and pretty ride.

Citricos is an excellent restaurant with good food and excellent service as are the other two. It has a low down view of wishes, probably not as good as the other two. I don't remember them piping in the music or lowering the lights either. Citricos was also very loud when we were there in January.
