We went 2 weeks ago. I had purchased the DDP in advance of making ADR's. It applied my credits to the HDDR automatically and I did not have to pay.

As for using credits or paying OOP, it depends on where your other reservations are. You should pick the ones that are the lowest price to pay OOP, that may or not be HDDR.

On basic DDP, 2 TS meals are almost always a bad use of (adult) credits, especially if you need to pay some meals out of pocket. At best, assuming Cat 1 seating at the 8:30 show, you're getting a $72 value for credits that cost you closer to $80 to buy. More likely, you;re getting Cat 2 seats at $67 value.

Deluxe is different. Those meal credits cost less per credit, so you'd be looking at a little less than $65 in credit prices, making it a wash or slightly ahead.

There used to be a box with "Dining Plan" that you could check when reserving. If you don't see an option like that then it's best to call WDW dining.

like Hopefully said we were there in August and had bought the dining plan early. my credit card which was the one on file was not charged ahead and we used the 2 credits
