I have a couple of questions. I am trying to decide if I should pay for HDDR for Cat 1 or use DDP for Cat 3? I wasn't going to book it this trip but DS 7 really wants to go. I have all of my ADRs booked at 1 TS places. If I use DDP I will cancel La Hacendia and pay OOP for Saana. But if I decided to pay OOP for Cat 1 I'm not sure what to do with extra TS. We have ADRs for CM,CP, Ohanas, GG Coral Reef. I guess I'm asking will we be disappointed with Cat 3? We have been to the HDDR for the last 4 yrs and didn't think of booking it again when ADRs opened to get Cat 2. Last question I promise:goodvibes how does it work with DDP and HDDR do you give a CC to book and do they charge it or just make sure it is valid?

I asked a cast member how it works booking HHDR with the dining plan because we don't have the dining plan now but plan on adding it before we go. She said if I book HHDR now where I have to pay for it in advance that when I do add the dining plan they will cancel and refund my paid for reservation and rebook using the dining plan credits. However, if you already have the dining plan, when you go online to make your reservation for the dinner show, there is a link at the bottom of the page that says something to the effect of I want to use my dining plan to make my reservations. You click that.

If you book all your stuff and have one table service credit left over then trade one of your planned CS meals for the table service meal...just book another sit down meal and use your extra CS meal credit on breakfast at your resort. That's what I would do.

Unless you can get the website to work- cm says there is a trick but I never got it right it is best to call if you want to use ddp credits to reserve the meal. They take a cc to hold the ressie but only charge you if you are a no show.

We did cat 2 last time and it was fine- we were at the very back and still enjoyed it. I am not sure but I guess cat 3 might be upstairs:confused3 food would be the same and I do not think the seats would be that bad.

Having never been before, but booked it for our upcoming trip in May, I can only answer one of your questions. We booked HDDR using the Dining Plan. We did have to provide a credit card but was not charged for anything. As the pp mentioned, it is my understanding that it would only be charged if we were a no show. :)
