HDDR on AK day strategy

We have an 8am adr for Breakfastosaurus in AK then have a 5pm adr for HDDR. Will that give us enough time at AK? What time should we leave AK in order to arrive at FW in time for our 5pm dinner/show? Is there a bus from AK to FW or is there a better way to get from one to the other? In case it matters, this will be in October when park hours are possibly shorter. Thanks for any insight!

Hello TX neighbor Do you have a rental car or are you just using the bus system at Disney? Keep in mind that you get a lot of food at HDDR and it is a great show. So with the big breakfast you will have, you should be good for the day. What resort are you staying at? If you leave AK I say at 3:00 you should be ok. That would give you time to get to your resort and change if needed. You could then park at WL and take the boat to FW. While waiting to get into HDDR, enjoy the pet farm at FL.

If you are going directly from AK to HDDR...I would be very tempted to just go to the Contemporary and take the boat from there to Fort Wilderness. If you take a bus to FW from AK, you might have to make a transfer at FW (if I remember correctly). This is the only place in all of WDW that we got all discombobulated. The boat drops you right off near the entrance to Pioneer Hall. If you ask over on the transportation board, you might get a better answer.

you need to check in at pioneer hall a half hour before your 5pm seating. if it were me and i didn't plan on stopping off at my resort to change i would.....

if you have your own car.....start heading out of AK at 3:30 or shortly there after.

if you are taking any form of WDW transportation.....head out of the park at around 3. my vote for getting there would be to second what goofy4tink said. catch a bus to one of the MK resorts (WL, Contemp, Poly or GF, preferably the Contemp) or to MK itself and take the boat to FW.

We will be at the mercy of Disney transportation, so I guess we will take a bus back to the CR (that's where we're staying) and then the boat to FW. I think I read somewhere that the boat ride was nice/fun anyway so that will work out well. Thank you all for the advice!
