A number of years ago i went to Las Vegas and was told by a number of different people that I absolutely had to see Siegfried and Roy's show. The price made me hesitate (almost $100 seven years ago) but this was advice i was given by a number of people so I went ahead and purchased a ticket. For me, it turned out to be an incredible waste of money and time.

For some reason, I am getting the same feeling that the Hoop Dee Doo Review would be similar. It isn't cheap for a family of four to attend - is it really worth it?

I don't mean to offend anyone - i want my DDs (ages 2 and 6) to have a great time but don't want to listen to DH talk about expenses.........

Thanks for all the good advice ALWAYS found on this board.

:D

we have always enjoyed and had a great time at the HDD. and the children sitting around us seem to be having fun too.

My dh and I went during our honeymoon this past January and thought it was a waste. As corney as we are, we found the show to be over the top cheesey, and didn't really enjoy the food. We did enjoy the Spirit of Aloha Luau though. Seeing people go up there to dance (kids and adults alike) was fun, and the food was delicious!! The Cirque du Soleil was wonderful too!! Both would be better places to spend your money, in my opinion. Besides, if you're already doubting whether you'll like it or not, you probably will. I know I did!

My dd, 11, loves HDDR. My dh and I wouldn't be unhappy if we didn't have to go again. We weren't crazy about the food. Felt it was better than the Luau food but nothing to write home about, so to speak. The show is cute. It is airconditioned where the Luau is not. If you figure what you would normally pay for a meal and then add a bit for a show, then you might have a better idea. My problem is that if I'm spending $28 for food I want it to be better food than I'm getting at HDDR. I forget what I paid last summer, maybe around $38 pp but I don't think my dd ate anywhere close to that in mac and cheese.

Your girls might be too young to really appreciate the humor also. If I had to choose, I would go see Cirque again.

You will either love it and wanna go back ... or hate it and swear it off forever! LOL

It's a very corny, silly, over the top, knee slappin' time.

Down home viddles.

Yeeeeeee Haaaawwwww!

The only way you'll know if ya like it is if ya try it.

Yesserie!

Well-for adults, show -wise there isn't any comparison. If you didn't like S&R, I doubt seriously you'll like HDDR.
But your kids certainly might--.
IT's one of those things that you should try at least once---

For my family it was worth trying once but we have no strong desire to make it a regular event. Our family photo DID come out very well and will be on the front of our Christmas card this year.

The performers are very talented and I would like to see them in something else.

The food was pretty good overall but the ribs we had were tough and the corn was off the cob and in a bowl with like chopped green peppers and onions.
