DW and I have booked our 10+1 anniversary at WDW for the first week of December 4-9, 2006. Last night I called to make an ADR for the HDDR on 12/4 for the 9:30 show. The CM told us that she only had two tables for two left for that show and that we were lucky that we called when we did. :goodvibes She also indicated that she thought that they would not take my DDE card. :( I've got about a year to figure out whether that will be accurate.

Is this typical for the HDDR at a year out? Is it more that they only have a limited number of tables for two? Just curious as it seemed odd that they would be that booked for the late show 360 or so days in advance... :confused3

It's the most popular dinner show and the longest running one on property and after I went in July I can see why. I absolutely loved it and am kicking myself for not doing it sooner :goodvibes
I think there are a few things going on while you are there. The Pop Warner days will be going on and there are a couple of conventions and that might be the reason that HDDR is already booking up. Plus as many posters have said over the past couple of weeks the beginning of December looks like it's no longer slow season as they have seen an increase in people in the parks. I'm glad you were able to get a table and I hope that you have a good view of the show. Believe it or not when we went in July we made an ADR when we checked in for HDDR and they happened to have space available at the 9:30 show the next night. I was shocked when they went to seat us and we were seated at the second table from the stage directly in the center of the room. It was packed and I know most of not all of those people made ADRs before us. I'm not sure how they assign tables but I was happy!
P.S. Don't forget to let them know that it's your anniversary :goodvibes

We used our DDE when I booked our HDDR it is only good for the 9:30 show.
We booked last Feb. for this past Nov. We had a blast. Hy husband got picked to be Davy Crockett's ghost. We never laughed so hard, me,ds,dil,dd and sil. The food was good and the show as funny and corney as ever!

I know Dec is getting busier, but my guess would be that most visitors aren't sure which dates they are going this far out yet. It's probably more realistic to believe that there are fewer tables for 2 in there. We have been 3 times and I have to say that I haven't seen many tables set just for 2 people in that place.

We have ADRs for the 5 o'clock show on January 6, 2006. These ADRs were made two weeks ago. Maybe the 5:00 time slot isn't very popular.

I would call back and make sure the CM entered the correct year.

We booked our Dec 28, 2005 in Nov 2004 and they initially booked Dec 2004.
