HDD Revue--Alternate Kids Meal ??

My PassPorter book indicates that kids can get mac and cheese and hot dogs instead of the ribs/chicken meal.

Has anybody done this? Do you have to call ahead, or do you just inform the waiter when you are seated?

Also, if we are driving to the show, do we drive to one parking lot, and then take a bus to the hall where the show is held, or can we drive clear to the hall?

When we called to book HDD we asked about an alternative meal for kids who dont eat meat and the CM acted as if we had 5 heads. "Oh no, thats not on the menu..." So we called back a day later and got another CM. We explained the situation and she put us on hold and got right on the phone to the HDD. When she got back to us she gave us the phone number(407) 824-2803, and told us we could call there when it got closer to the show(this was months in advance) and talk to the chef.
We ended up calling about 4 days in advance and they said they could have macaroni & cheese and french fries for the 2 kids, no problem. When we got to the show and the food was brought out, we just mentioned it to our server and she went back and found the kids food.

I bet you they have an ample supply of mac and cheese on hand even if you don't call ahead. I plan on doing the same with my fussy 9 yr. old son, but I'll wait to see if he likes the food first. I ordered the mac and cheese at the Poly luau and they came right out with it, no problem, I imagine the same will be here.

We didn't call ahead in Jan 2002 when we were there .....we just asked our server if we could get some mac & cheese for the kids & they brought it right out. IT WAS AWESOME, by the way - very good mac & cheese.....

I will plan on calling a few days ahead. Kids might not live through the day if they don't have mac n' cheese or a hot dog!
