We are taking an underpriviledged 14 y o girl to Diseny with us in Sept. (Free dining made this possible folks! :goodvibes She is great fun and has a great sense of humour so I thought that blowing 2 TS's on HDD would be great for her. Then I thought more about it and wonder if eating in the castle would be a memory she would cherish. After all she's a princess too! Please help me in my dilemma. Thanks Tabitha

She has suspicions only because we have had to come up with creative excuses to get all of her documents in order. There has been no confirmation on our part though and she will likely not be told until a week before the trip. :lovestruc

I don't have girls so no experience with the whole princess thing but I do have 2 nieces and they love the princess stuff so I would imagine that would be a biggie. Are there other princesses going also so that the entire group would enjoy?

I haven't been to HDD, but we did CRT last sept. I personally don't think it is worth 2TS. But my 2 DDs (ages 6 and 8) did enjoy seeing the princesses. A friend of mine was at WDW last week, he went to HDD. He said it was a lot of fun and recommended I take my DDs there when we go to WDW again this sept.

I was 17 the first time I ate in the castle. It wasn't a character meal, and all we could afford was soup but I loved it all the same. It was so magical for me. :goodvibes

If you think she likes princesses or the Disney mushy stuff I'd say go to the castle.

I know I am the minority but I didn't care for HDR at all. Dh on the other hand loves it. There are no characters in, if that makes a differance to you.

Have fun!!

Sorry to disagree with some but the character interaction at CRT is hit or miss (mostly miss by what I have read here AND experience myself). Plus it will be over in 45 minutes.

Although I have not yet dont HDDR I have it booked for this summer and MOST of my research has shown that this is a hysterical time for the whole family.

Plus....I dont know if a 14 year old will get as much from the princesses as a younger child might.....
