HBO's Game of Thrones: Season 4

I am. I pictured Prince Oberyn a little older, but I wound up really liking Pedro Pascal's performance. So creepy.
Hmmm . . . his age:

- He is old enough to have fathered eight daughters (though was it with three women, and they're all very close in age?), so he can't be all that young.

- His sister Elia was married to the crown prince Rhaegar. Of course, for all we know she was a 15-year old bride. Do we know whether he was an older or younger brother?

- I think the actor appears to be between 30 and 35 -- I looked up some pictures, and he looks younger "as himself" than he does as Oberyn. Still, as the prince, he doesn't look young but doesn't yet have lines on his face. I think 35 seems an appropriate age for his character.
Loved Arya and The Hound!
Definitely two of the best characters in the series!

Sansa was a fool not to leave King's Landing with the Hound when he ran away; thing is, even with all she's been through since then, I don't think she knows it yet.
Can't wait for the Purple Wedding!

(and can anyone confirm the actress that plays Margaery? I swear she reminds me of Irene/Moriarty from Elementary)
I don't care for her character -- neither in the books, nor in the movies. Though I did think she did exceptionally well in the scene where she's alone with Joffrey in his bedroom, and she asks to shoot his crossbow. In that scene, we see so clearly that she outpaces him in every way, and she is capable of making that little lion dance to her tune.

I cannot wait for what people are calling the "purple wedding".
shutterbug, you need to read the books if you haven't already. So awesome!!:thumbsup2
Yes, yes! The movies gloss over so, so much -- especially the backstories.

I pictured him more like 45, but I'm happy with this casting so far regardless.

I agree with you so much about Margaery. I don't like her character in the books or in the show, though her presence saved poor Sansa so I guess there's that. I don't really see the appeal of that actress either, but that scene was fab.

Tonights episode:

ohhhhhh wow

Doing this  while also doing this: :yay:

They did so well tonight ratcheting and ratcheting up the tension.

Craziness! I'm happy but also really wondering what is going to happen! I have not read the books but I'm planning to.

This was the one and only episode written by the original author. It was mesmerizing and we were jumping up and down and shrieking at the same time. I watched it twice and it was even better the 2nd time.

Not true. George R. R. Martin has written an episode in each season.

Season 1 - The Pointy End
Season 2 - Black Water
Season 3 - The Bear and the Maiden Fair
Season 4 - The Lion and the Rose

I thought it was a good episode but nothing fantastic. Definitely was happy with the ending.

I started reading the books last October and I'm reading book 5 now, so this is the first time I'm ahead of the show and know what's coming. The part of A Storm of Swords that came after the Red Wedding is by far my favorite of all the books, I flew through it when reading and I can not wait to see it on my screen.

The books are so much better than the show; but that is typical. I just wish he would write some more books to finish the series.

There was a lot of tension this episode. A few thoughts after first watch..

I didn't like the Bran storyline that much in the books, but I find it really interesting on the show. I think part of that is the visual being succinct and part of it is Bran was like 10 in the books and I think the story works better with a 15ish yo. I also am happy every time I see the kid from Love Actually as Jojen Reed.

I am really hoping to find scene-by scene screen caps of Bran's vision bc I thought I saw two different faces on the left hand side of the screen after the horse. Book readers know what I'm wondering.

I love Sansa and was happy to see her get so much focus this episode. I also was thrilled with the Cersei/Brienne scene: "I don't serve your brother." "But you do love him." *telling silence*

Equally good. Jaime and Loras's scene: "You will never marry [Cersei]". "Neither will you." Team Jaime, but he was so burned.

The Stannis storyline continues to be the scariest for me. It is so much more horrible to see some of that stuff than to read it. I have actually quasi rooted for Stannis at times because Davos is such a favorite of mine, but oh my word is their world scary.

The actor who plays Jojen is also the voice of Ferb :)

:yay:

I have not read the books, but I think I know who is responsible for what happened....but I could be wrong. (its the last person whom you would suspect)
