Just what the heck is going on????

I've been watching the show since it started, and I'm lost, not to mention disappointed.

It's time to get the ball rolling, or cancel the program!

You know, I hate shows like that!!! I used to be like that with The X Files. It was a great show, but I used to have to sit there and not miss a minute of it or I'd be totallylost. Finally, I decided that TV was for my entertainment, so I stopped watching the X Files.

if all tv was that confussing I would read a book

DH loves it!
But he isn't here tonight....I'm taping it for him.

I watched the first two shows and decided that was enough for me.

Ya know, Blondie....I'm watching it....and I have NO CLUE what's going on.

Well, a bit of a clue...but no idea where it's going!

And I think I love it!

Go figure!

I had pretty high hopes for this one, but I'm finding myself drifting away. I didn't make it all the way through last night's eppy, but I'll probably catch the rest of it on reruns this week.

My wife loves it. She loved Twin Peaks too though - another show that I just couldn't get into....

It's such a dark show. Very depression age. For some reason, that really appeals to me.

I guess I was born on the dark side! LOL LOL LOL

Carnivale seems to touch something dark inside me and this week's episode was a shocker. I sat there while the credits rolled with my mouth hanging open just trying to absorb what all had happened. I'm definitely going to have to catch at least ONE re-run of last night's episode to try to figure everything out.

Did anyone else notice that there seems to be no women in Babylon? I also wasn't aware that the hoochie girls were sisters and the man and woman shilling them were their parents. Even though the mother disregarded Sampson's order to not do a blow-out, I can't wait to see what "Carny justice" is.

I only caught the last half of it, but yes, I did think the sisters' shills were their parents.

That's why the reaction was so strong at the end of the show.

My DH taped all of them. I need to sit down and really watch them closely. I always seem to catch them in bits and pieces because it's during DS's bedtime!

Well, I was following along just fine until the last two episodes, then I got lost. They are really bouncing around and not touching down with what the people need to know to try and figure this puzzle out.

The cave thing lastnight, what the heck was all that about? It really didn't seem to serve any purpose except that he was wandering around for what seemed like an eternity! He did see that other coal miner and said "I know who you are" and the man responded with "but do you know what it means?"

Anyone else get a sense of Night of The Living Dead when the coal miners showed up at the carnival, all wandering around with those blank stares? Spooky.....

Oh...and I thought it was a bit too much when the stripper did her little routine before the miners went nuts.

I'll stick with it, but I will say....it's been very, very slow.

I'm going to have to get HBO back. I miss what you all are talking about.

Oh, we absolutely LOVE this show! Of course, we all were very much into "Twin Peaks", "American Gothic" and "Picket Fences" too.

Last night's episode shocked me only in that I was hoping to see more of Dora's character, played by Amanda Aday -- she's Meat Loaf's daughter in real life. I think the strip scene was necessary. I give her a lot of credit for doing it. It shows how extreme the carny can be and how dangerous the life is. And it is HBO, after all...

I don't care if everything isn't answered every week -- it just brings you back to try to figure it all out. I was disappointed that Brother Justin wasn't on at all last night. He has some connection to Ben.

Keep watching...:)

I am watching this show too. Last night was #5 out of 12. It is a mini series. I learned a lot that was going on by going to the HBO website and reading about all the characters and they also tell what is going on each episode. I learned from here that the minister and what I thought was his wife was his sister. They were orphaned and raised by the other man who is a minister who comes to see them. I learned here that the strippers were sisters and their parents were the ones behind them. It told here that the mother was raised in wealth. Go here and you will find a lot that will help you out.
