HBC points question

I had over 1,500,000+

I recently noticed the amount is much lower, instead of higher...

For the year, I have been paying using the HBC Mastercard (to get double points), and then using my debit card to repay the MC immediately.

Today when I logged into my account, several times it shows the "base points" and HBC Mastercard bonus" points being redeemed or returned.

Would anyone know why this is happening?

last year I noticed the same thing. I had close 800,000 + points.
I think it all happened when the new owners took over the company.
I dont use the Bay credit card much, so didnt notice on my monthly bills exactly when it happened.
Maybe you can look back on your statement and see when the points were reduced. Contact them just in case, although it didnt help me at all.

I don't have a HBC Credit card but I do have their points card. Once a month, my HBC points are transferred to my Air Miles Account automatically.

I used to work at the customer service desk at Zellers a few years back (for over 10 yrs) Since I can't view your account, I'm going to assume that those negative amounts on your rewards account are when you returned merchandise. If you charged it, then both base and cc bonus points will be in the negative (since you get 50% base points and 50% cc bonus points on each dollar purchased). If you want, you can send me your hbc rewards # in a personal message and I can view it online for you just to be sure. Rest assured, I'll only be able to 'view' your account, I won't be able to access your points in any way. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, see if you can 'cut and paste' your transactions onto your PM.

Something must be going on with HBC.....I just noticed yesterday that I have a -24,000 points on my receipt. I have not returned anything at all.

Did you go on www.hbcrewards.com and check out your awards statement? Enter your rewards number under "Sign In" then you can 'View your rewards statement'. Does it show any record of negative points and if so, what does the 'description' say?

ETA: Send me a PM if you want me to look into it for you. I still work at Zellers (but in a different area) and still have access to rewards info etc.

I just went on the site and it shows no activity at all.....I shopped last Monday which is when I saw the -24k on my receipt. Odd...now it says -8k and I certainly didn't spend enough to get 16,000 points.

With such large amounts of fluctuation, it could just be a gliche in the system. I'd keep my eye on the balance and check online for any activity. It has to 'catch up' eventually.
