How many times has DCL cruised there? And odds of going back? What was the itinerary? I missed the chance last time. Thanks!

There were two roundtrip cruises out of LA in 2012:
Los Angeles, CA

Kahului, Maui
Nawiliwili, Kauai
Honolulu, Oahu
Hilo, Hawaii

And two one way Hawaii/Vancouver cruises in 2015.
Vancouver, BC

Honolulu, Oahu (Overnight)

And the return trip in reverse.

We were on the first sailing to Hawaii. We loved the itinerary. I would sail again to Hawaii only if they make it another round trip.

Roundtrip Hawaii cruises are long on sea days and short on time in Hawaii. As much as I like sea days on DCL, I'm unlikely to book a roundtrip Hawaii cruise on any cruise line.

I have repeatedly booked (and cancelled) Royal Caribbean's Hawaii cruise between Vancouver and Honolulu (usually in May and September). I even had DCL's Sept. 2015 Honolulu to Vancouver cruise booked for awhile, but it was too close to an October Canada cruise I also had booked, and Canada won.

Right now I have b2b2b Radiance of the Seas Hawaii plus the next two Alaska cruises booked for May 2017. (The second Alaska cruise is necessary in order to not run afoul of the PVSA.) Depending on the itineraries and prices of DCL's April 2017 Panama Canal cruise and RCI's Sept. 2017 and May 2018 Hawaii cruises, the Hawaii cruise might get postponed yet again! However, I really like the May 2017 itinerary: https://m.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-details/12-night-hawaii-cruise_RD12H016-1493956800/

We were on the inaugural cruise in April 2012. I wish they had done a night-time sailing past the active volcanoes on the Big Island, and the Napali Coast of Kauai. Of course if the volcanoes aren't active during your cruise, that's a moot point. The night-time sailing was the highlight of other Hawaiian cruises we've taken with two other cruise lines. I was also bummed that we were in Oahu on Sunday, when the Polynesian Cultural Center is closed, but there was still plenty to keep us busy.

I was fine with all the sea days of the round-trip from Los Angeles, but DH was getting stir-crazy toward the end.

I did the one way from Vancouver to Hawaii will do a one way again in a heartbeat . Round trip I will have to think about it. But the one ways did very bad for DCL. The round trips did good for DCL.

The one-ways were supposed to help Aulani. Did that happen?

We did the Hawaii Honolulu to Vancouver this past September, I loved it. We had the port days the first 5 days and then 5 sea days to relax. It worked out perfectly.

So any speculation about when they may offer it again? Anyone travel with young kids? We want to visit Hawaii but DH is not a fan of flying over the ocean. So this could be our answer. Any trip reviews of the 2015 sailing?

You can check the Trip Reports board (link at the top of the main page here) for trip reports. I'm sure there's one or two.

As to whether DCL will do them again - who knows? Only DCL.

Yes it did lots and lots of people from the cruise stayed at aulani on both cruises. I'm just guessing but I think it was aulani biggest check out/checkin date they ever had. The day when one cruise ended and the other one started. Just a guess nothing to back up my guess

We did wakiki then aulani then hawaii cruise September last year

The day we checked out aulani for the cruise the check in line was horrendous as śo so busy

Oh I don't know what I'll do if Hawaii is released in 2017.... ;) On one hand I want to go to Hawaii (badly) and what better way then to cruise there with DCL! On the other.. I want to do a 7 night on the Fantasy combined with WDW. And I don't do well with too much choice :(

Hawaii is still on DCL excursions either they are going back next year or just too lazy to have someone take it off.

We canceled what would have been our 3rd Fantasy cruise this past June, in order to spend a week in Hawaii. The whole time I was there I was wishing we were on the Fantasy. I'm just sayin.

I would do Hawaii hands down. WDW isn't going anywhere and either is the Fantasy. Hawaii cruises on DCL are few and far between. Unless this is the last vacation you'll ever take I can't see why it's a difficult choice.

Would be very interested in a 2017 one-way between Hawaii and Vancouver that took place during the summer (I teach).

I think my preference would be to fly down and stay at Aulani a few days pre-cruise.

(Actually, if it could start sometime in early July - before the 10th - that would be even more tempting as I have OBB that could be applied. A girl can dream, right?)

I was half kidding ;) I would choose Hawaii if we can afford it! We were planning to take a Disney cruise on Fantasy in 2017, that's all.. If Hawaii comes out, we will be likely scratching those plans!

Chances are, IF there is a Hawaii cruise again, it won't be in the summer. They have typically been done just before or just after the Alaska season (Apr/May or Sep/Oct).
