Anyone trade for one of the Hawaii properties in the World Passport collection?

Considering going to Hawaii and would appreciate any feedback on DVC members experiences with any of the Hawaii properties.

We stayed at Marriott's Ko Olina last February and loved it. It is on Oahu, but on the western side away from Waikiki. It is where Disney will be building.

While I have not traded DVC, I have traded other timeshares for HI and stayed or visited most of them for Kauai, Maui and Oahu. We'll be there in a week staying at the Wyndham in the new Beachwalk area of Waikiki and then a week on maui at the Westin. Personally the only resorts I'd consider trading even using DVC would be the Marriott's, Westin and the Former Embassy properties. Realize that many don't have AC and that overall there are very few 2 BR units. One should start any search for HI at least 12 months out and preferably between 14-24 months out for best chances of success.

Can you request only those brands of hotels? I was looking at Maui and the Marriott mentioned being under renovation. The Westin looked nice = what are the "Former Embassy" properties now called?

The Point at Poipu for Kauai and Ka'anapali Beach Club, both now Sunterra resorts. You can and should not only request by resort but actually by dates and by resort CODES. The Marriott is actually building two new towers. My daughter stayed there in Sept and said it didn't affect them any of course they were 5th floor ocean front, lucky person. I'll be on Maui in a few hours staying at the Westin on an exchange and plan to take a peak for myself at the Marriott as well.

Thanks, everything I've tried in timeshares in the last few years has turned out golden. My daughter was especially happy as this was their delayed honeymoon and her dream since she was born here. Every trade has been an uptrade and I've gotten everything I wanted. I couldn't believe my daughter got an OF unit for an exchange or that I got Ko'Olina on an accomodation certificate for her. These two weeks we're here now were 1 week at the Wyndham in Waikiki (RCI) and a week at the Westin, both 1 BR. And I used cheaper Bluegreen deposits to get both. To me it's a little like going to Vegas. I just got confirmation for Gatlinburg for a week that matches other units I have reserved directly to do a family reunion and a 1 BR at the Aruba Surfclub for next January.
