My wife and I put in a request to go to Hawaii the last week of January 04' or the first 2 weeks of February 04'. Typically, how long do you wait until you hear your request can be filled? If you call member services, can they give you an update?

They will call you. It only took us 5 days to hear, but we had a much more flexible time frame than that.

My husband and I are going to Hawaii in Sept. and made reservations about 4 months ago, it took about 48 hrs. to hear about our reservation. I called member services to check on it and they had the response in about 48 hrs.

I think it was around 100 pts. or so. (sorry I don't have the info. with me) For 2 nights at Kapalua (Maui) and we are paying cash for 2 nights. And then we are going to Oahu for 4 nights, not using pts.

WE did a weeks exchange to the Kona Coast Resort II on the Big Island in a 1 bedroom/2 bath. It was similar to a 1 bedroom at OKW in that it had a great kitchen, dining/living room and deck. The master suite did not have a jacuzzi, and the laundry was just a stackable one like at BWV, but it had a VERY well appointed kitchen. It was 160 points for 1 week.

I believe the poster above me is talking about concierge collection, and not an II exchange. It really makes you understand why an exchange can be better use of points....1 week versus 2 nights!

i made our ressies back in april for the following april, for the marriott maui ocean , havent heard anything yet. you could always rent your points and pay cash for your hawaii trip, like we probably will end up doing. you can book as early as 2 years out and i have heard even then some people didnt get their ressies for maui. i have even contact a few condo rentals for quotes and quotes from a travel agent. i heard its even easier to get ressies for the concierge collection but your using more points that way.
i hope that helps you.:) :)

You should look at least a year out and even then expect most exchanges to be filled at 6-7 months or less. Many at only 2 months or less before travel. Just the nature of the beast.
