Ok, we have reservations for the Mauna Lani Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii for August. Wondering if anyone might have pictures they can share?? Can't wait to go!!

Sue - We *love* Mauna Lani, and have been going there at least twice a year for the last 4 years. (We liked it so much, actually, that we bought a condo there...:) ) We'll be back there in August too...

The best place for photos is their website. I'd highly recommend checking it out. There is one outstanding guidebook that I can't recommend highly enough, "The Big Island Revealed" - its available on Amazon.

Enjoy your trip to Hawaii! I hope you love it as much as we do!

We just returned from the Mauna Lani. We were there 4/24 to 4/29 and loved it. It is one of the most beautiful resorts we have stayed in. The grounds are amazing and the rooms are beautiful. Of all the hotels we have stayed in on the Hawaaiin Islands I found it to be the most "Hawaaiin". Right from the moment you walk through the door you are made to feel very welcome... I'm not going to spoil it for you by going into the details...
Although we were there only 4 days, our favorite day was spent at their beach snorkelling. It was some of the best snorkelling we have done. I have only a few pictures of the grounds if I can figure out how to upoad them to this site I will let you know. But you can feel very comfortable believing that all the picutres you see on their web site are a true depiction of what you will see when you get there.

We did use points. It all happened b/c I had had a request in for 2 years for a II Hawaii exchange. Under the new policy last July I think I was the first unfortunate person to get a match, before I even understood the new policy. The week was within the month, which we couldn't possibly do. I was able to get MS to allow me to move the points to concierge but they had to be used within 12 mos. I got on this board real fast to check out the Mauna Lani, and booked the 5 nights std view for 270 points. We did upgrade to Ocean view room for $167/night. Definately worth it. We both ended up sick and stuck in the room for 3 days, so glad we had a beautiful room to be in.
