Hello-

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to do the week "exchange" through the World Passport and how did it go?

I am looking to go in 2007/2008. Should I start my search now?

Also, is there an expiration time..because if that doesnt pan out I would suck it up and use the Concierge.

Any advice is greatly appreciated as this will be my husbands and I 10th anniversary and want it to be special

Oh..and if you have any recommendations of resorts in Hawaii...please let me know.

Thanks.

We did it 3 years ago. We started our search 2 years out and got our week on the Big Island after only 5 days. Now if you are looking for Maui, it will take longer, and don't request a specific resort. We left everything VERY open. We said any date from Jan.-May of the specific year and any island except Oahu. We plan to do another one in a couple of years too. It works best if you can get your week at the easiest place to book (Kona Coast II Resort) and combine it with other accommodations or exchanges. I always feel a trip to Hawaii should be at least 2-3 weeks in length.

Thanks Dianne.

I was hoping to do Interval Exchange for 1 week in Maui

Then, doing 1 week on Big Island through Concierge.

I will def call when I get home from work..

Its good to hear it worked out for you...

Wish me luck..any more advice?

I think if you reverse that, you will fare better. It really depends on if you have a specific time you want to travel too. Exchanges are easier to Hawaii, and more difficult to Maui. You might try a direct exchange on TUG or Red week.com too. I am planing a direct exchange for a Maui week and doing DVC for Hawaii and adding a couple of days on Oahu at the begining and end.

How do you do a direct exchange?

Obviously this is my first time..sorry for being retahded.

Not knowing much about Hawaii, is there a particular reason Oahu is less desirable? Or maybe you'd just already been there before?

In my opinion, there are only two timeshare resorts on Oahu that I think would be worthy of a DVC exchange: Marriott's Ko 'Olina (which isn't in the Waikiki area), and Hilton Grand Vacations at Hilton Hawaiian Village (which isn't available through I.I.)
