Having watches made with your favorite character on it

I know there was a thread about making a watch at WDW with your favorite character on it. That thread mentioned a jewelry store on Main Street in MK. Just wanted everyone to know you can also have one done in a store at the Marketplace (Downtown Disney) that is straight across from the Christmas store. It sellls lots of art work.

Anyway - the artist is there and you can discuss your watch with him. A full color watch was 350.00, and a sketch watch was 200.00.

I opted for the sketch watch and ordered my fave, Merriweather from Sleeping Beauty. All the available characters are in a big book. It only takes a few hours, but I had the watch sent to my resort.

The next day we picked up the package. There was a tube that held the original drawing that the artist did that eventually turned into my watch. Then there was a long box, that held a long leather case and inside was my Merriweather! The artist did lovely shades of blue for her dress (of course, I mentioned that she just had to be blue!). It is really lovely, with a nice black leather band (a Mickey head on the clasp!).

These are gorgeous, however way out of my budget. A cheap alternative for people who can't afford the watch (or already have a watch or just don't wear watches) is to have a character sketch drawn up. You can have as many characters as you wish on the sketch and I think it's $28 per character. They look very impressive in a frame. Right now I have Clopin, Esmeralda & Djali from Hunchback.

Your watch sounds absolutely beautiful!!

Another alternative for a character watch is the Italian charm bracelet. I got the Mickey watch part to slip on to my bracelet for about $70. I got mine at Mouse Gears but they were available at most of the gift shops that had a good jewelry counter. Here is a link to the Licensed Disney charms available. That sounds interesting. Where can you have these character sketches done?
